The Major Snowstorm Condition and Significant Weather Event declarations ended today at 5 p.m. Targeted snow removal will continue with a focus on narrow streets, sidewalks, and bike lanes. Watch for temporary orange “No Parking – Snow Removal” signs. These mark areas scheduled for clearing within 24-48 hours. Vehicles parked in these spots may be ticketed or towed, as they can block snow removal. If possible, consider using off‑street parking to support this work. Residents can report areas needing attention to 311. toronto.ca/winter

This weekend, the City’s snow removal crews are out in full force, clearing school zones, residential streets, transit routes, sidewalks, highway ramps, and bridge decks across Toronto. Crews continue to inspect and action hot spot plowing areas throughout the city. Thank you to Torontonians for identifying locations that need extra attention. Yesterday, 311 winter‑related service requests declined by 36%. Residents are encouraged to report problem areas to 311 online or by phone. Parking restrictions remain in effect along snow routes. City crews are continuing to work on the City’s snow response over the weekend. More than 1,300 people (including nearly 200 staff redeployed from across City divisions) are assisting with snow clearing, inspections and towing to help keep Toronto moving. A few reminders and updates for Toronto residents: ➡️ Parking restrictions under the Major Snowstorm Condition declaration remain in effect to help with snow removal ➡️If you see temporary orange signs that say “No Parking – Snow Removal” please move your car from the area. ➡️ A school bus loading zone snow removal blitz will continue this weekend as this work needs to be done outside of school hours ➡️Please stay alert. Drive according to conditions and keep a safe distance from snow clearing vehicles. ➡️Cold temperatures continue this weekend so stay warm, dress in layers and cover as much exposed skin as possible. Snow removal on residential streets is progressing, with work completed on one side of the street first. This keeps one lane open for travel and supports access for emergency vehicles. This planned process will remove large snowbanks to improve access for pedestrians, mobility devices, strollers, and essential services. If snow removal is scheduled on your street, watch for temporary orange “No Parking – Snow Removal” signs. These signs are placed in advance, and crews begin work within 24 hours. Residents with on-street parking should be prepared to move their vehicles when signs appear. Please follow posted signs to avoid parking where snow removal is taking place. Reminder to all residents: Parking on snow routes is prohibited while a Major Snowstorm Condition declaration is in effect. As snow removal is underway, keeping these routes clear helps snow clearing and removal crews. Residents will start to see temporary orange “No Parking – Snow Removal” signs where snow is to be removed. Crews will remove snow within 24 hours of signs being placed in snowbanks. Please make sure you have moved your vehicle and do not park where you see these signs. Get more details at toronto.ca/winter

Beginning today, crews are hauling away large snow piles from residential roads where they restrict visibility, reduce road width or limit access for emergency services and residents. Crews may work in phases as equipment moves block by block. Additional snow removal may be scheduled once all local roads have at least one clear lane. Please remember: ➡️ Avoid parking where temporary orange snow removal signs are posted. Vehicles may receive a $100 fine and may be towed and impounded. ➡️ Parking permit holders can park anywhere within their permit area if snow removal is taking place on their street. ➡️ When possible, vehicles will be friendly‑towed to a nearby street or Toronto Parking Authority lot instead of being impounded. ➡️ You can submit snow clean‑up requests to 311 online, through the 311 Toronto app or by calling 311.
