Sobriety Birthday today marks NINE years of sobriety for me. What a weird, wonderful and complicated journey it has been. Getting help was the hardest thing I have ever done, but has brought more gifts, friendships, and relationships that I could’ve ever anticipated.

It must be back & biceps night… I still have to squeeze in a 5-mile run before bed.

@seizuresalad Seeing your doc once every three years will keep you on the patient roster. Otherwise it’s generally a several month wait just to establish care if you do need to be seen. Plus even super healthy people have recommended screening tests, like mammograms and colonoscopies

My doc is making me come in for a “wellness check” on Friday. I tried saying “no thanks I’m good” but apparently if I don’t go in, they remove me from the patient roster and I have to find a new doc. People can’t just be healthy anymore without a doctor validating it.

@Theholisticpsyc Well, my ex refused to contribute to the household finances and did the bare minimum to help out. It felt like living with an occasionally helpful teenager. Is that a parent-child dynamic?

Question: Your housemate never initiates conversation. She says hi if you bump into each other in common areas but generally avoids interaction and keeps conversation to a minimum, what conclusion(s) do you reach about that person and their reasons for that?

I convinced my girl to watch The Last of Us. Saw episode three last night and she was crying by the end of it. What a great show…

@Theholisticpsyc So true! My first relationship after marriage was so intense! Three months in, I realized it was because he was a raging narcissist. That’s when I decided to look for reliable and stable. Someone who’s words matched their actions.

@ARODMDPHD @Nedu_MD It was… not fun. But my (ex)husband wasn’t bringing in an income for any of the three pregnancies, and I’m solo private practice. Thank God I had easy deliveries!

What were your best purchases, both big and small, in the past few years? Mine: Small: Blackout curtains (shades) & daily contacts for dry eyes. Both game changers Big: Hot tub. Couldn't pull the trigger on this for years, but finally did and love it. Use easily 4x per week
