@raghu_venugopal Do you feel the same about making it easier for people to use fentanyl ?

Disturbing reports of corporate pressures on pharmacists for profit: cbc.ca/amp/1.7126811
When diagnosis (dx) leads to Rx which leads to profit for corporation, unlikely for pharmacist to be allowed to dx viral illness and no Rx sold. Dx and Rx sale shouldn't be in same hands

@metromorning @davidcommon I would have loved it if you had asked about plans for healthcare infrastructure given the large planned development in Downsview park. If 60,000+ homes are going to be developed, I sincerely hope there is Healthcare that comes along with it.

@HumanFact0rz @mattgallowaycbc Never say the "q-word"... You just cursed whomever is on shift tonight!

An awfully busy Monday night in the St. Mike’s ED. I blame @mattgallowaycbc for saying “quiet” on air earlier today.

@EM_Update @arunsayal1 - thanks for the inspiration to allow me to mentally reframe the way I think about my job. I needed that.

@RitikaGoelTO @SarooSharda_MD I'm sure this has been said, but I think objection was made by using "rather than" instead of "in addition to" (or similar). I don't oppose any initiative to emphasize social justice, anti-oppression or anti-racism, but to decenter medical expertise seems counterintuitive to me.

Medicine is at a crossroads. Please read our piece on the pushback to challenging power when trying to centre equity in CanMeds and more. If we want to actually move towards anti-oppressive healthcare, we need action. journalhosting.ucalgary.ca/index.php/cmej… #meded #MedTwitter cc @SarooSharda_MD

@petrosoniak The fact that healthcare still relies on faxing in 2024 is bewildering to me, and representative of the lack of systemic innovation (and funding) our healthcare system faces.

AI to cutdown on paperwork for family physicians?
But still no centralized referral system for specialists? Correct
And we still fax everything? Correct
And we repeat 1000s of tests because they’re not available across all clinics/hospitals? Yup 🤦♂️

@davidcarr333 That is to say I would criticize a "slow doc" only if they weren't effectively managing acuity in their dept/area just as much as I'd criticize the fast doc who's cherry-picking or cutting corners. My point is that situational awareness is key here.
English

@davidcarr333 Not sure I agree entirely. Dept awareness doesn't necessarily rely on speed, but definitely plays into efficiency. Checking in with your charge RN and/or area lead RNs to know who's in your department and who's sick vs. who can wait is just as important as bulldozing thru volume

How does this make sense in a single payer system? Hospitals are worsening their financial situations by having to take out loans yet have little to no recourse in making up this ground in a not for profit environment. 🤦♂️
I don’t understand this.
Patients lose in this scenario.

@CTVComedy She's been hosting The Daily Show - any reason why it's been dropped from CTV Comedy's lineup? I LOVE that show.
