when i was in elementary/ middle school my mom used to beg me to stop “making myself weird” and it worked and in college i got into a top tier sorority :) but there is a gnawing emptiness… can’t think too deeply about it :)

7 years ago, 5 minutes before I needed to give a high-level presentation to ministers at a European Commission meeting, I received a text message saying my mother had died. I gave the presentation anyway, waiting to break down until after. I still miss her like hell. Every day.
