@Ouranos84 @gnominate_ @Batman2242 Can’t even vet candidates with sex pest charges yet they want keys to the bus
English

@gnominate_ @Batman2242 Lol yes it is I use them over a grill and fryers everyday 🤣 if he didn’t y’all be saying he has his grubby hands all over the food 🙄 one nation are losers 🤣

@GribbleRC @WheatWatcher I agree it would be great to see an end to Iranian regime rod but this whole thing feels more like an impulsive whim - and I don’t really feel like it’s achieved anything much as yet bar unnecessary death and global turmoil
English

@WheatWatcher For over 4 decades of nearly worldwide sponsored terrorism - including domestic carnage - it’s time this regime is gone.

@CockroachHQ @Currentreport1 Or you could elect a leader capable of leading a grade 6 src?

The era of unconditional U.S. funding for NATO must come to an end. It is strategically unsustainable to provide billions in defense subsidies to European allies who fail to offer reciprocal support when American interests are on the line. An alliance without mutual commitment is no longer a partnership; it’s a liability.

Government won’t implement a tiny container levy to adequately fund biosecurity in Australia because it’s inflationary but will look to put an inflationary emissions tax on fertiliser imports while excluding any taxes on coal and gas.
Oscar@Oscarthefarmer
@aquiferts Yep. I am really angry with the paper dcceew.gov.au/climate-change… Its arse about: essentially contradicts the Government's own Ag and Land Sector Emissions plan and isnt really working with Paris Agreement Article 6.2 and 6.4 And does fuck all except up inflationary costs.
English

Not ag related but what is happening with @theage - the puff pieces on the rich listers, the fawning coverage of some ridiculous $100g to join golf club - what was the point of that article? Still loads of great journalism, just a worrying amount of flim-flam on the side
English

@Mistadamage And let’s not even start about using some of our best country for sequestration projects
English

This is where policy based on "the vibe" gets you.
Frightening when that seems to be the new normal way of running Australia
Respeculator@respeculator
Make that $40bn. Just ridiculous 🤦♂️
English

@sandmanute @Oscarthefarmer Religious nuts are the worst no doubt - but not just Islam - the other parts of the Abrahamic tradition don't exactly have a great track record on that front.
English

@Oscarthefarmer If you choose to be a religious fanatic and pick Islam, I have no sympathy for you. You’re an idiot.
English

@Oscarthefarmer That is crazy. On one hand One Nation is fulfilling a role in identifying the wild discontent with the two majors but gee a scary situation if they're in a position to be helping form policy with takes like this.
English

@KellyAlspals @theweeklytimes I know it drives analysts etc mad but the guys I speak to often saying their simple method of holding back until the later autumn works far more often than not. It shouldn’t on paper but we do seem to see some sort of a rally more often than not
English

Growers withhold grain on a whim not information. So much more information is available to growers but they are just gambling on instinct and experience. ‘Running our own pool’: Farmers hold grain for price lift weeklytimesnow.com.au/cropping/farme… via @theweeklytimes

Interesting to see all the #REZs nominated by the Vic govt are basically in quiet parts of western Vic - couldn't have anything mucking up the high country or the coast where the city folk go for their dose of the country life.

@Oscarthefarmer @Warwick_Long Yeah - had a few say that - but I found our local rainbow radar the most accurate via bom
English

@grheard @Warwick_Long BTW radar hasn't been a thing Ive used directly off their website for a long while. Apps and commercial websites did and still do that bit better anyway!
(Those features are worth paying for, outside of BOM's website remit. But they do rely on the BOM hardware and stations)

English

Hi all - hook up with #bom on Monday to discuss new website - what questions do you want asked?
English

@Oscarthefarmer @Warwick_Long Not much - a little bit of spiel re ‘consultation showing this was what people wanted’ but questions on this i submitted didn’t come up
English

@grheard @Warwick_Long Anything on their consultation (past and pending) or commercial providers (including wider than the website alone)?
English

@Oscarthefarmer @Warwick_Long Without wanting to stir up further ill feeling - probs not great - was far more of an explainer on how the site could be used than answering any of the nitty gritty questions. Got a little bit of traction re their rationale for changing radars which I’ll put together soon
