Just one thing on the issue of Starmer misleading the House. It's not just that he lied when he claimed pressure wasn't exerted. That's manifestly false. It's that for some reason he tried to lie about what Robbins said to the committee. Testimony that was public, and we all saw.

@AbsolutelyVexed @thesundaysport @DrGladimir The issue with the NHS is that it has been a basket case for decades. Throwing more and more money at it has just made things worse the by baking in the sheer incompetence.

I'm chronically ill. My csre is funded by them now too. There's no central point of contact. The people working in the NHS don't know who to contact about what even, nevermind patients. To fiddle statistics lots of appointments ate being made and cancelled. Reorganisations are constant. They never leave a structure in place long enough to be able to work out the kinks. It's horrendously badly managed from the top who don't consult with those affected to find out their idea won't work. It's horrendously badly over-managed. It would rather cheapen staffing costs in any way possible (eg employing less qualified staff & staff from poorer countries) than make life easier for staff by making processes easy to navigate and efficient . It avoids treating patients until the treatment needed is harder and more expensive because they've deteriorated so badly. It's too detached from patients and staff. It's too political and unionised. Those unions aren't even bothered what their members think. They're just a political power block now.
