@gilescoren Good for you! We won’t be going any time soon & we’re not buying any goods from the US either. When a President thinks it’s ok to lie, cheat & mock others & when a nation of followers think it’s ok to do this then I don’t want to be any part of that so called ‘humanity’!

This morning I cancelled our family holiday to America. I cannot in good conscience take my wife and children there and tell them they will be safe. The United States is no longer a place for decent people. thetimes.com/article/78f404…

Chester is the world's first Sustainable Palm Oil City. 🌴 Cat Barton, our Policy Lead on Deforestation Free Commodities, chatted to the Palm Pod team about how that happened. Listen in here: buzzsprout.com/2385661/episod…

@IngridWierts @orangulandtrust By boycotting palm oil, you are, perversely, encouraging the growth & production of conventional irresponsible palm oil. By choosing sustainable palm oil, you are actively encouraging responsible production.

@orangulandtrust @PalmOilDetect Sorry didn’t intend for you (both) to get into an annoying discussion, I was just curious and I am interested.

The first ingredient in Food Lion's sweetened condensed milk is milk. It only contains milk and sugar. The first ingredient in Dollar Tree's sweetened condensed creamer is sugar, then palm oil, milk powder, disodium phophate. Palm oil is decimating habitats. Mad at myself...

@philipenemer DYK Sir David Attenborough says: “We can protect wildlife by buying products made with deforestation free sustainable palm oil. From companies that support local people, use existing palm oil plantations without cutting down more rainforest.”

@orangulandtrust Most of the options are palm oil free or hidden that they contain palm oil. Sadly RSPO sustainable palm oil certification is frequently shown to be abused and trust undermined. It may be better but it isn't stopping bad practice at all as any report will tell you

In 1996, an unidentified 8-year-old boy slipped away from his mother, climbed over a barrier, and fell into the Gorilla Enclosure. Due to the 20 ft fall, the boy broke his hand and suffered a deep laceration to his face. Seven gorillas inhabited the enclosure. Gorillas are known to be fiercely territorial animals. They will fight to the death to defend their families. However, one of the gorillas, called Binti Jua, meaning “daughter of sunshine” went over to the boy and cradled him in her arms, all while her own young child was on her back. She then went over to the edge of the enclosure and waited for the zookeepers to come and collect the child. Binti handed the child over peacefully before returning to the rest of the gorillas. Binti received worldwide praise and received regular treats for the next few weeks. The boy and the mother have never been identified, but the boy did stay in a hospital for 4 days. Animal behavioral experts claim Binti used her maternal instincts to look after the child. This may have been influenced by the fact that she had her own baby Gorilla with her at the time.

Why @nextofficial did I not receive a refund when I cancelled my online item. I collected the order from my #Next store & they told be the refund would show in my bank account. It doesn’t. And why can’t I speak to anyone about where my money is?

@DrBirute @ECOWARRIORSS Surely what matters, is raising awareness amongst consumers & collectively doing all we can to be responsible. We cannot change the past, but we can influence the future. It means we have to be proactive and move forward.

@ECOWARRIORSS All I can say is that if we want to continue using #palmoil we have to make it truly #sustainable with no deforestation now or in the recent past. Some palm oil companies are trying to do so but the urge for profits gets in the way. Other companies are pretending they are trying!

Deniers going crazy at cold in Europe saying Global Warming does not exist Reality Global warming has weakened Polar Vortex which can create a weak jet stream pattern, unlocking cold air, normally confined to Arctic which can now escape from polar regions into USA and Europe
