@drek77107 Nah keep it separate. This deserves to be its own thing.

@griffschiller If they were smart they would make this a prequel to the movie and make Patrick Gibson, Bond

Can't express how giddy I was playing through #007FirstLight! Just...floored, genuinely floored. A marriage of the Brosnan-era blockbuster spectacle and the character deconstruction of Craig's that paves the way for what is instantly a generational take on the character. Truly a Bond fan's dream and the exact shot of adrenaline this franchise needed to usher in a new era of Bond. There's a music cue late in the game that is so well-earned and invigorating, it cemented what I already knew: that @IOInteractive wasn't just the perfect studio to give Bond the AAA gaming experience because of Hitman; they were perfect because they so effortlessly and enthusiastically GOT the character. These are creatives who clearly love every iteration of Bond and went to great lengths and detail to give him a long-overdue gaming treatment worthy of the 007 name. The preview event already blew me away, but nothing could've prepared me for how exceptional the full game is.
Has, dare I say, the first interactive montage I've ever played through in a game?? Brilliantly cinematic way to move through Bond's training and team bonding. Gameplay overall is propulsive, combining IOI's signature sandbox approach to missions with an explosive (better?) Uncharted-style approach to the linear story, all funneled through the instincts of James Bond. It SERIOUSLY rewards a play-style that adopts the wit, confidence, and improvisation of Bond himself as you build momentum progressing through the missions. Perfectly captures the very essence of the character and the heart that guides him even when orders say otherwise.
Gibson's Bond is beyond charming—a real modern man who's relatable, classic, and confident. There's a real anti-snobbery/elitism sentiment that permeates the narrative, and I LOVED it. Really paints Bond as this long-awaited, working-class rebel raging against the machine. A force of change within the agency. The way he clashes with the villains is so much fun.
So much more to say, video forthcoming, but yeah...this is not only a perfect James Bond game, it's a fucking action/adventure phenomenal game, the kind we've been desperately missing.

new video time! James Cameron made the first terminator on a tiny little budget and I think those limitations actually make it better!

The name’s Warmann. Amon Warmann.
Lots of fun and games - literally - at the world premiere for #007FirstLight last night. Plus I won a cool £1800 at Blackjack! (Yes it was fake money, but still…)

How do you NOT love this??? The POV shots??? Gahhhh, everything about Cregger's approach to RE looks sick af.

Zach Cregger talks survival horror and his vision for Resident Evil. From the mind behind Weapons and Barbarian, Resident Evil is in theatres 9.18. Filmed for IMAX. #ResidentEvil

Look at these comments, so many Gen X chuds furious that their fantasy film about about a half-naked muscular man in a loincloth tackles the concept of machismo.

MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE is like a sister film to the first Thor. Struggles to find its footing in the first half, but once it locks on its themes of fragile masculinity and ego, it makes way for an incredibly fun time that's also visually stimulating. Nicholas Galitzine is great!

It's clear that everyone involved with MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE has such an unabashed passion for the source material and its impact on their creativity. While at times feeling like a relic from the 2010s IP grab, it finds its strength in proudly embracing the quirky, campy, afterschool special-isms that endeared its filmmakers to it as children. A nice look at how trying to look cool is actually the least cool thing you can do, and having a deeper connection with who you actually are, finding sensitivity through strength, is rad as hell.
However...for a film about the need to stop being a try-hard, I wish it didn't try so hard to win me over. The attempts at humor, especially (and boy, there are many), are painfully trite and unfunny. There's an awkward cadence and sense of insecurity that permeate much of the first two acts, making it hard for me to fully fall in love.
That said...Jared Leto's Skeletor is genuinely excellent. A hilariously pathetic diva who works a scene like Man Ray meets Dr. Evil. The undisputed MVP. For whatever faults the film has, they fuckin NAILED every moment involving this goof.

@maggieofthetown Literally the second he came on screen and started doing his thing, I was like "goddamnit...you're perfect."

@Edubs24 I mean...it's certainly within the genre even if it's not a straight horror.
English

@ColinOnBlueBird Obsession was close to making the cut for sure and I love The Substance, just others I prefer.
