Yes, the movie plot doesn't follow consistently well to the previous ones, but this scene certainly isn't the problem - aside from how it always gets weirdly blurry a few seconds in...

“there were dragons when i was a boy” is crazy because this is the FIRST PAGE of the first book… people can hate this movie all they want, but the writers cooked with this scene.

@tfromthetdot @TorontoStar The actual truth is that no one gets into the ltc homes at all without someone who advocates and jumps through hoops to get them there. People who haven’t gone through the process have no idea.
English

@TorontoStar LTC homes are filled to the gills with people who have children so having them is no guarantee of care 🤷🏾♀️.

I never wanted kids and I’ve had a wonderful life without them. But who will take care of me when I’m old? Ask Lisi trib.al/M8aYl2B

I would love to believe that when I die I will live again, that some thinking, feeling, remembering part of me will continue. But as much as I want to believe that, and despite the ancient and worldwide cultural traditions that assert an afterlife, I know of nothing to suggest that it is more than wishful thinking.
I want to grow really old with my wife, Annie, whom I dearly love. I want to see my younger children grow up and to play a role in their character and intellectual development. I want to meet still unconceived grandchildren. There are scientific problems whose outcomes I long to witness—such as the exploration of many of the worlds in our Solar System and the search for life elsewhere.
I want to learn how major trends in human history, both hopeful and worrisome, work themselves out: the dangers and promise of our technology, say; the emancipation of women; the growing political, economic, and technological ascendancy of China; interstellar flight.
If there were life after death, I might, no matter when I die, satisfy most of these deep curiosities and longings. But if death is nothing more than an endless dreamless sleep, this is a forlorn hope.
Maybe this perspective has given me a little extra motivation to stay alive. The world is so exquisite, with so much love and moral depth, that there is no reason to deceive ourselves with pretty stories for which there's little good evidence.
Far better, it seems to me, in our vulnerability, is to look Death in the eye and to be grateful every day for the brief but magnificent opportunity that life provides.

Pinterest, I'm looking at you. Scrolling super gingerly, with the very lightest touch, I still accidentally redirect myself to temu etc about every 30 images. FO with that.

Ontario Nature warns the new changes to the Endangered Species Act “removes independent, science-based decision-making regarding Ontario’s most vulnerable species and weakens protections for their habitats.”

The Ontario government is repealing the Endangered Species Act, making it easier to build mines and infrastructure projects like #Highway413 ❗

#MEDIA - The Government of Ontario has announced plans to scrap the Endangered Species Act & create “special economic zones” that are exempt from provincial regulation.
This puts the survival of many plants and animals at risk.

A long time ago, I was auditioning for the movie “The Doors” It was kind of a cattle call. They paired together potential Jims with potential Pamela‘s. And they were running behind so we were spilling out of the casting office, sitting on the porch, the lawn, and the driveway.
All of a sudden, a sixties convertible came screeching up, blaring Doors Music at top volume. And a guy jumped out and strode inside: He had wild hair and he was barefoot, shirtless, and wearing nothing but a pair of tight leather pants.
We all looked at each other like… Who is this guy? We were more than a little shook by the sheer audacity of his entrance. Well of course it was Val Kilmer and from that minute on, nobody else stood a chance.

@dustyXrhodes @Rainmaker1973 I live just northwest of this airport and we have more snow on the ground currently than I've ever seen here, so even with significant snow removal, still plenty to blow around

@Rainmaker1973 seems that becaused of the snow and that it rolled, the flames went out almost instantly and didnt cause any mores explosions!

Hi everybody,
I just wanted to check in with you all. Towards the end of the last Stray Cats tour I noticed that my hands were cramping up. I’ve since discovered that I have an auto-immune disease. I cannot play guitar. There is no pain, but it feels like I am wearing a pair of gloves when I try to play. I have seen some progress in that I can hold a pen and tie my shoes. I know this sounds ridiculous, but I was at a point where I couldn’t even do that. Luckily, I have the best hospital in the world down the block from me. It’s called the Mayo Clinic. I know I will beat this, it will just take some time.
I love you all,
Brian
