what if we were all microbes in the gut or blood vessels of God, and then God experienced our prayers as sensations—like hunger and weariness and yearning

I want to worship all the gods, always remembering that every pebble is an altar.

I love religious plurality, not just because it is tolerant, but because I think God might be metaphysically plural. . . and that's fascinating and awesome.
