@owenjonesjourno So if it’s not your ideal appointment, straight back to dividing the left ?. Surely even if the appointment is not exactly who you want, it’s time to unite and make sure reform don’t get in ?. Or is factionalism more important?.

Nick Robinson to Zia Yusuf: "You say this is all about standing up to the establishment. "You're a multi-millionaire. You made your money selling luxury helicopter charters and rare wines to the super-wealthy. "Nigel Farage is a public schoolboy, a former commodities trader who gets £5m gifts from his friends and lives in a 5-storey house next to Buckingham Palace courtesy of a man convicted of fraud. "Do you really think you are in a position at Reform UK to claim not to be part of the super-wealthy, self-serving establishment?"

People versus the establishment? Are you kidding? Nigel Farage is the son of a stockbroker who went to Dulwich College and then follows his dad into the city, gets gifted millions, promotes crypto and gold bullion, been in politics for decades - he IS the establishment
Suella Braverman@SuellaBraverman

The establishment smears and attacks have crossed a line. Nigel is absolutely right to call a by-election. This is now about the people v the establishment.

Sky News
Sky News@SkyNews·
Clarification: Sky News was not at the property at 7.41am. As has already been acknowledged, and as shown in the footage from 10.19am, Sky News was outside a property where Mr Farage was registered to vote at the last election. Sky News did not interact with Mr Farage’s daughter. On a single occasion, we approached the property without a camera operator, identified ourselves as Sky News, and the adult occupant chose not to engage. We were seeking to contact Mr Farage to ask questions about the gift he accepted from Mr Cottrell. This is a well-established and routine journalistic practice when reporting on matters of legitimate public interest. The footage clearly demonstrates that Sky News did not “hound” or pursue Mr Farage’s daughter. At no stage did we seek to speak to anyone other than Mr Farage in connection with this story.

Without Russia's promotion of Farage, Brexit would not have happened. On September 16, 2014, Farage and Nathan Gill made speeches to the European Parliament parroting several of the same Russian propaganda lies. They both called Ukraine "The Ukraine," a term which refers back to the old Slavic word for borderland, which Russia uses to deny Ukraine's nationhood. They both used the expression "poking the Russian bear." They both parroted the Russian lie that there had been a coup in Kyiv in 2014. They both parroted Russian lies about NATO and EU expansion. They both repeated the Russian claim that the real threat was Muslim extremism, a claim that Putin had very effectively used to distract Western leaders from Russian aggression and its hybrid war against the West. Reform UK initially claimed Farage barely knew Gill. That turned out to be a blatant lie. And a reminder that before the BBC picked up the baton, Farage was propelled to prominence by Russian TV. The Kremlin clearly thought Farage would be useful to Russia. He has doubtless more than exceeded their hopes.

Any odds on how long it will take for Andy Burnham to resign as Prime Minister or is it too soon for that?

After Sir Jack's funeral, I walked back to Molineux with Kenny, his wife and Nick Owen. I said: "Thank you for making me proud of my club again." His wife turned to him and said proudly: "See, that's what they all think of you Ken." This is how I prefer to think of my club.

Isabel Oakeshott on Nigel Farage buying a £1.4m house: “I honestly don’t see why it’s anyone’s business. Why should people know how he paid?” Isabel Oakeshott on Angela Rayner buying a 2nd home: “I smell a massive rat. How on earth has she raised the money to buy a £800k flat?”

Rayner has been cleared, but the media ran 30 front pages in total, averaging 4 front pages a day during the peak of the story. Farage's £5 million gift has had two front page stories. Why would there be such a difference in reporting standards for the two?

The ministers urging Starmer to go are feeding the hysteria. The next leader will be subject to instant leadership speculation and the next, and the next, whether Labour, Reform or Tory. Britain is becoming ungovernable. And the media fixation on this tittle tattle is not helping

Very Brexit Problems
Very Brexit Problems@VeryBrexitProbs·
The Nigel Farage Guide to Being a Working-Class Hero Step 1: Be born to a City stockbroker. Step 2: Attend Dulwich College, fees currently £53,000 a year. Step 3: Skip university. Become a City commodities trader instead. Step 4: Run one of your metal broking firms into insolvency. Step 5: Get elected to the European Parliament. Spend the next 21 years drawing a salary from the institution you're paid to dismantle. Step 6: Claim £15,500 a year in expenses for an office your party was given rent-free. Step 7: Put your wife on the EU parliamentary payroll. Take her off only when the rules force you to. Step 8: Get investigated by the EU's anti-fraud office. Eventually have half your MEP salary docked to repay misused public funds. Step 9: Throw a Brexit victory party at the Ritz. Decry the "professional political class" to a room of millionaires. Step 10: Take £450,000 in personal gifts from Arron Banks. House. Car. Lifestyle. Step 11: Take £5 million, undisclosed, from a Bangkok-based crypto billionaire. Days later, announce you're standing for parliament after all. Step 12: Win Clacton. Take the £93,904 MP salary. Add £1.2 million a year from GB News at £2,300 an hour. Become the highest-earning MP in the House of Commons. Step 13: Speak in parliament fewer times than any other party leader. Fly to America at least nine times in your first year. Refuse to hold in-person constituency surgeries. Holiday in France while parliament is sitting. Step 14: Tell the working class you're one of them. Tell them to vote against their own interests, over and over again. Pint, mate?

@NathanJudah Yes give him support, signings and the start. Impossible to be 100% convinced but actually having some quick or creative players may help. As for POTY - I think get rid of it, but if pushed Santi Bueno been consistent all season. Honourable mentioned to Hugo and Mane for young
