Marathon science is not just about PREDICTING performance; it's about UNDERSTANDING what makes a good marathoner, so we can train better and run faster!

@Predamame I will say, I do strongly agree with the marathon training being a large part of the experience overall

10k run on a overcast and windy morning! Just trying to take it easy before my 10 mile race on Saturday. Happy Thursday!

@runningmann100 No "wall" or cramps here. The miracles of proper hydration and carb consumption during marathon... 😅

Some of the tables during the Beer Lovers' Marathon were pretty raucous. The race had 2655 starters and just 150 went M.I.A. over the course. These runners were still in pretty good shape (and in even better spirits) with just two kilometres to go. #beerloversmarathon #liege

If you catch me posting running advice on here, I promise that I'm not trying to be smug about it. You can safely assume it comes from a place of "Predhome learned this from failure."

@Predamame Yea, it's pretty clear that the idea to use a straw could have only come from the experience of not using the straw (familiar to most)... 😅

@cshimala I run on the Lakeshore path nearly every day and I noticed this too. 🌬️🏃‍♂️Nearly every run is affected by 10, 15, or >20mph wind and I don't recall this being as much of a factor in previous years.

Do any Chicago meteorologist's have data on the wind this year? It sure has seemed way windier than I can ever remember, especially over the past month.

Incredible cloud flow over Chicago this morning. Just when you think they've moved on, another set comes along around 8 seconds. #ilwx

Most discussions on here are not worth getting into. What is worth doing is going for a run...

@Predamame On runs like this, I count seconds between the lightning and thunder. When it gets under 5sec, I duck under the nearest cover.. 😅

There’s always one rainy run in the summer where you’ll be confronted with a very critical question: “was that lightning or did I just blink funny?”
