@buffaloduke_ If you watch the perfume commercial Refn shot around the same time (I think) they're basically the same. I genuinely think Neon Demon is one long troll and I love it for that.
English

Is this a brilliant statement about amateurs?
Everything about this is either not enough or a little too much. The acting, the characters, the story… It even looks like a 5 gum commercial most of the time
This has to be a dupe and if it IS then it might be a perfect movie

@NYGIANTFAN1976 It's on a VHS tape (if it is even real)
English

@grumpyandrew I've said it before...
By 1984 when the first wave of slashers films was waning, some filmmakers gave their slasher a "thing" that made them different (e.g. Freddie is a knifey ghost).
He might be a robot, but the Cyberdyne Systems Model 101 is a slasher in my book.

@AndrewGrevas @IsabellaEm1 and mine is that it was the first actively bad Scream film but I'm glad there are folks who enjoy it.
English

@IsabellaEm1 @grumpyandrew My stance on Scream 7 remains the same: It was fine. It wasn’t bad. It wasn’t great. It was decent.
English

A few things:
1) There’s a good chance Neve doesn’t run her own social media account. Most don’t.
2) The studio is going to offer her what she’s worth after the killing Scream 7 made at the box office. If she’s not coming back, it’s because she didn’t like the script.
3) I still haven’t recovered from the last round of Scream drama. It’s too early for all this.
Scream News 🇵🇸🏳️🌈@Scream_News_
Neve Campbell has unfollowed Kevin Williamson and the official account of Scream on Instagram. What does it mean? Last time Neve unfollowed Scream acc, it was when she didn’t return for the 6th instalment. [Via: @faccu ] #Scream8

@AndrewGrevas I can't agree with that at all, but you know what they say about opinions 😆
English

@grumpyandrew Compared to Scream 4 it was A Tale of Two Cities haha
English

I'm so sorry, I have to retweet this. Once again, I'm sorry.

@BCambridgeEdit @sadjazzwxtch Thanks, man. That's very kind of you. I'd like to send good vibes to the OP as well. It's heavy when those clouds roll in; I wish you sunshine and moonlight.

@sadjazzwxtch I hope your doing ok lady.

@grumpyandrew Evil Dead is awesome. It is my favorite of franchise.
Friday is watchable. Pretty much a soft porn about a serial killer protecting his weed
NOES is pretty bad... Acting is awful. The effects are much worse then original.. The story of pedophile and maybe innocent is bad
English

This isn't even close. I wouldn't put Evil Dead in the same breath as the Platinum Dunes flicks, let alone the same category.
Freddy Krueger (☥𝐃𝐁)@FreddyKruegerDB
Which reboot/remake went hardest
English

@grumpyandrew Oh, that sounds cool! I'll check it out!
English

@grumpyandrew I thought it was fantastic 😅 I definitely see the hodgepodge criticism but it didn’t hold me back from enjoying it
English

Alright I need to figure out what this thing is because the reviews are all over the place

@TimmyMallett Timmy, please help! I remember the game Michael Wackson on Wacaday but can find no evidence of it. I recall it involved trays of porridge & a rubber Michael Jackson doll, parodying the pavement squares of the Billie Jean video. Please tell me this really happened! @TimmyMallett

@HorrorPaperback The original concept is a squintillion times more interesting. Julia is a fascinating character and it keeps the cenobites fresh and mysterious.
Explorers in the outer realms of experience are so much more interesting than mortality police boogeymen.

Julia. Queen of Hell. Bride of Leviathan.
Did you know the Hell Priest (AKA Pinhead) was never meant to be the central villain of the Hellraiser narrative?
According to interviews with Hellraiser creator Clive Barker and sequels scribe Peter Atkins, the story was supposed to follow Julia Cotton from frustrated housewife through nervous accomplice to tentative murderer. Then, in the sequels, we'd witness her continued fall from grace but rise in power. This would culminate in her becoming the Bride of Leviathan and the Queen of Hell (or certainly the aspect of Hell represented by the Labyrinth).
Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your point of view), Pinhead rapidly developed the kind of fanatical following experienced by Jason Voorhees, Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger and Chucky, and it was decided that he should be the figurehead for the 'franchise'.
As a direct result of this shift in emphasis, not only did we lose Julia as Queen of Hell, the rationale for the Cenobites was also corrupted. Instead of them being amoral guides into the realms of extreme experience, with an almost bureaucratic insistence upon the rules of their Order, they became supernatural slashers, dispatching victims willy-nilly.
Don't get me wrong, I love Pinhead and his crew of infernal psychos but I can't helping thinking of what might have been.

@rollins_green Oh my god I'd forgotten about Pillowpants!!!

Christ I'm old
I saw this in the theater.
Laughed so hard and so long at one scene, I nearly blacked out hand to God.
Which scene?
