Life was better when there was a ‘computer room.’ Where you had to physically enter the room to get on the internet and then log off and leave that room and the internet stayed behind. The minute we were able to take it with us in our pockets that’s when society collapsed fully

Now that I'm old (60) [STFU with your "60 isn't old bullshit". Go back to your office job, you good smelling bitch], I've taken to sitting on my porch and observing the comings and goings in my little slice of urban heaven. I'm that guy, on the porch. Come by and take a load off.

@grumpytradesman @cosmepolitics @TBerlaga How do you tax unrealized capital gains? If the person has a bad year shouldn’t they be entitled to a refund? Anything unrealized is potential. My last real job I made mid 6-figures. I had the potential to earn a lot more. Shouldn’t I have been taxed on my potential wealth.

I’m still so confused at the people who make less than $25k a year simp for billionaires and get mad when their taxes go up. You are nowhere near their tax bracket. You’ll be fine. Stop being embarrassments to us poors.

@joemoran4094020 @cosmepolitics @TBerlaga Of course the marginal rate was substantially higher than the effective rate, but the effective rate today is lower still, and the vast majority of the wealth is in unrealized capital gains, with the capital gains rate itself being much lower than before = wealth transfer upward.

@grumpytradesman @cosmepolitics @TBerlaga Nobody paid that rate. There were so many credits, deductions and “loopholes” that the actual rate paid was a little lower than after those rates were reduced. You might want to check your history about job growth and taxes.

@KhananiShingan1 I try to ask good questions, with plenty of listening. Most folks are smart in some things and dumb in others, and it's important to not sell yourself short on the depth of your own personal knowledge.

@AusThinkingGirl @cosmepolitics Rather smell like weed than a billionaire's asshole. You capitalist cucks are just the funniest thing - two or three paychecks from disaster but yet so willingly sacrifice yourself for folks who would happily slaughter you like cattle.

@lurkeyturkeyi @EricMTerrill1 Well you do as you see fit, but I've been told by many mechanic friends that the recommended mileage between oul changes is a ploy to sell more oil changes, similar to the "lather, rinse, repeat" instructions on shampoo bottles.

@grumpytradesman @EricMTerrill1 10k miles between oil changes? My wife is the primary driver of the van. Need I say more? 😆 (Then there's the weight of 4 kids and a crap load of stuff being hauled around.)

The majority of billionaires created their wealthy by starting businesses that created immense value for large numbers of people. People want to work for them. People want to buy their products or services. Being a bitter loser with a chip on your shoulder doesn’t make this untrue.

@barbarismcrit Nope, I'm coming for the author too. Asking the question stating that "every American who wants a job has one" is ignoring that folks need 2-3 jobs to make ends meet, and still can't afford to buy a house or pay for healthcare that actually covers anything. Totally clueless.

@billybrizzle420 Do yourself a favor and leave one or two of the couches behind. The TV could probably be upgraded as well, but I understand that more - a well functioning plasma screen has unequalled brightness.

@AusThinkingGirl @cosmepolitics Billionaires only acquire wealth by confiscating it from others - their exploited workers, competitors they put out of business or bought up to bury/harvest their innovative IP, using their vast resources to get the inside track to government contracts. Billionaires are cancer.

@cosmepolitics Some people understand that you don't build wealth by confiscating it from others. You don't make your life better by making someone else's life slightly worse. The government can spend an endless amount of money and everyone's lives can still be shit.
