In 1997, Julia Hill climbed a 200-foot 1000-year-old Californian redwood tree and did not come down for 738 days to prevent Pacific Lumber Company loggers from cutting it down. She ultimately reached an agreement with the company to spare the tree and a 200-foot buffer zone surrounding it.

Yesterday, I tried clay sculpting for the first time in like 20 years. While the result was an apocalyptic Totoro and ended up in the recycling bucket, carving a kilo of clay out of it was actually relaxing, unlike throwing bowls on the wheel. Should I show the result?

Zurich: beautiful autumn and a 100-items long to-do list.

Last 4 weeks have been crazy. Berlin, New York, Quito, Zurich - it was a month of intense travel. Will share a couple of highlights below.

Quito (Ecuador): good time with family, friends, dogs, great food. The best parts are not in Quito though. Papallacta: 4k run at 3.5k over the sea level at 6 am with a view over a 5.7k Antisana volcano + perfect thermal waters resort. I could get used to a life like that!

New York: first time to the US, very impressed and in a nice way. Amazing city, very human somehow. YET TO TRY A NY BAGEL THOUGH

Berlin: chairing a session at #MNE2023 where almost everything that could go wrong did go wrong. It was still fun though. A really good conference, so glad I went there.
