Even if some foreign horses influenced it long ago, the breed itself was created and refined in India over centuries.

This isn’t “exclusively Kashmiri.” It’s a traditional water‑powered flour mill found across the Himalayan hill regions. In Kashmir it’s called “Aab‑e‑Gratté/Gratte,” while in Jammu and adjoining hills it’s known as “Gharat/Ghraat (घराटै).” Same mill, different local names.

Btw Warwan is in Kishtwar district, Jammu division. don’t confuse linguistic labels with location.

Maharaja Gulab Singh purchased Jammu and Kashmir for ₹75 lakh. However, he was short of funds and borrowed money from Dewan Jawalla Sahai.
