After 4 cycles (16 years) of supermajority (owning 2/3 of the mandates) it was almost impossible to win against a party owning everything in the country.
But we did it. 🫡
Hungary is a small country, but the whole world watched this election.
( I do not usually post political content because I never liked politics in general, but since I have kids, I realized how important it is. )

When I was prepping for my 🇺🇸 citizenship interview this year, I tried the apps on the AppStore - but they all felt outdated.

Our society undervalues friendship - we treat it as optional and secondary to romantic and family life. But in reality, friendship goes to the heart of leading a good life.
Friendship teaches us that humans accept themselves when they are accepted by others who love and see them. Friendship teaches us to be open to being surprised. Friendship teaches us to love without an excess of moralisation.
The greatest friendships are relationships of a magical order. Those who live them know that Aristotle was right that friendship is one of the most important social institutions we have.

If America lost a major war to China and Russia, they'd demand that we withdraw from Eurasia, downsize our military, and deindustrialize our economy.
Trump is now trying to do ALL THREE of those things.

Today I became a 🇺🇸 citizen. I’m very grateful for this country to have given me the opportunity to come here to study, grow, work and contribute, but most importantly to live the life I get to live (that I often take for granted) with my dear friends I made here over the years.
As a Georgian 🇬🇪 who has witnessed Russian invasion first hand as a kid and watched the hybrid warfare against all ex Soviet states from Russia all of my life + puppet authoritarian regime installation by Putin in 🇬🇪, I always cherished the 🇺🇸 as the strongest supporter of freedom fighters and pro-democracy movements around the world.
It’s extremely disappointing to see the current US administration’s appeasement to Russia but I strongly believe in 🇺🇸 ‘s ability to self-correct and stand on the right side of history in the long run.
For the rest of my life, I will to stay true to the values 🇺🇸 represents and will do my part to fight for it. Freedom, democracy and the rule of law - that’s what makes this country great.

Since the onset of the full-scale war, I have emphasised that the West’s inability to confront Putin stems from domestic democratic decline - a perspective that faced considerable scepticism. Today, this long apparent reality is becoming unmistakable.
