Axel Rudakubana's school is telling parents and pupils not to speak to members of the press @astor_charlie has shared the following letter from Headteacher Mike McGarry, advising parents not to be interviewed in case they could prejudice the trial However, when Rudakubana's identity was revealed, outlets like the Mirror described him as "shy" and depicted him as a choir-boy from a dedicated Christian family How is this not potentially biasing the proceedings in a positive way? Is it only megative depictions of the accused which might prejudice a trial? Therefore, could a parent or pupil be thought to possess knowledge of an incident (or incidents) at the school, involving Rudakubana, which might suggest a history of violence, or provide insight into the motive for his alleged crimes? The information which led to additional charges was deliberately withheld from the public It is of the utmost importance that, if any, information concerning his life and motivation for the heinous massacre be made public when reporting restrictions lift following his trial
