@Samfr Is that Wise fella not in the individual? Was the standout when they were in the team event.

GB's Conor Hall and Tom Hall just beat much higher ranked archers in the round of 32 in the men's individual competition. They'll play each other in the next round so we'll have someone in the last 16. (They're not related which is probably just as well).

@Samfr (You’re a round too keen - they won in the 1/32, facing in 1/16, guaranteed someone in 1/8)

OLYMPICS UPDATE THREAD - DAY FIVE Women's triathlon well underway with Beth Potter and Georgia Taylor-Brown in the lead group of ten halfway through the cycle.... Kate Waugh leading the chase group a minute behind.

@Samfr Two big results in the archery just now. GB’s Conor Hall (ranked 46) just beat 2x silver medalist JC Valladont, and Tom Hall (51st) beat 14th seed Tarundeep Rai. They’re against each other in the next round.

Mallory Franklin made a bit of a mess of her run and no medal in women's canoe slalom. She looked very nervous.

Fantastic weekend leading the PGR Residential Writing Retreat, connecting doctoral students from @Warwick_Edu, @CIDD_Warwick & @WarwickAppLing. Very grateful for the UKRI Enhancing Research Culture funding. Look out for what we've learned about supporting part time PGRs!
