This one is tricky. You might ask yourself, “Why blend?” Why did we choose a name for this technology? The reason is that it’s not just a regular piece of tech, and it’s not just an execution model. For most users and developers, Fluent is simply Wasm and EVM machines coexisting. But for me, it’s a new way to transition state. State transition is a subtle concept. Blending is a way to diversify complexity risk while simplifying the technology, without compromising security or performance. That’s why we call our rWasm VM “blended.” It’s the VM that addresses this problem. One VM that proves and executes everything. No compromises. It will even blend SVM.

So this relates to the "working backwards" framework from the article a few weeks back. Here's how we view the progression of blockchain ecosystems. (1) Old way - Raise a massive amount of money, buy as much TVL as possible, spray it across 100 average apps, fragment incentives across the apps without much intentionality. (2) Current way - Raise less, but still too much money. Focus on a curated set of higher quality apps, be more thoughtful about where incentives go, but it's still quite fragmented. (3) New way - Raise the amount of money needed to get off the ground and use it efficiently. Focus on a curated set of high quality apps and founders that opt into working backwards to build consumer experiences that solve real problems. Channel incentives to these experiences. We'll focus on (3) and roll out one at a time, much like we did with focused testnet feedback.
