American golf fans on here hate Rory because he doesn’t fit their weird, kinda degenerate idea of what a golfer should be. They want “killers” because they aren’t that themselves. Plus the accent makes him feel even more foreign to them. It’s mostly just projection in my opinion. I’m American by the way so I have a front row seat to the hate lol.

I have to ask…why is Rory hated so much now by some? I’ve had literally 100+ replies espousing hate on Rory. Before his Masters win he was beloved. Yes he has said some dumb things, but anyone as open as he is would. He speaks candidly all the time.

@profesormesser He’s not. Never said he was. But is he the first golfer to skip three straight tournaments and get this kid of unlimited access to Augusta the month prior to the tournament? I don’t know, but it’s a question we need answers for.

Does a player(s) getting unlimited access to play Augusta National the three weeks leading up to The Masters, give them an advantage over the other players who only get a few practice rounds the week of? Be honest…

@RonDeSantis Rory had an insane amount of lucky breaks during the tournament. How many times can a guy hit a wayward drive and somehow always have a window to recover. The last hole was a perfect example. That was the difference-maker. Would’ve been fun to see them duke it out in playoff!

I am not a hater, BUT the @PGA & @PGATOUR should kind of be embarrassed by this Master’s win. Rory is a great golfer and I take zero away from him BUT when you say in an interview that you took off 3 tournaments leading up to the Masters “because you don’t like them” and then say you spent that time playing practice rounds at Augusta? Do any other #golf fans see an issue here?? This guy is supposed to be THE face of the PGA and goes and craps on 3 of its tournaments and used his advantage of being able to play at Augusta to his advantage in terms of practice is a bunch of BS and shouldn’t be allowed. A lifetime exemption is a privilege extended by Augusta to its champions out of respect. If that respect is not reciprocated, there is no law that says a past champ cannot be banned. I’m not sure they should have Sergio Garcia back after the garbage he pulled today. #themasters

If you're mad about a reporter asking a simple, common question that players themselves talk about all the time (how good or bad their score could have been based on their assessment of their play), and sometimes generates an interesting observation or two, you're an idiot. Seems like a lot of people are angry at this....but I thought it was pretty common for top-tier players, especially at Augusta? Seems like Rory took it to an extreme (doesn't care about his carbon emissions anymore LOL), but this isn't some new concept, correct?
