A controversy has erupted at Panjab University Chandigarh over the exclusion of Punjabi language from signboards and name plates in the campus. Students of SATH Organisation blackened several signboards in protest after Punjabi was allegedly omitted from them. Organisation leader Ashmeet Singh said the university administration had been given a two-day ultimatum to ensure Punjabi was given proper representation on all signboards. However, despite the deadline, no action was taken by the authorities, following which the students launched the protest.

Those celebrating what they perceive to be a difficult situation for 1.4 billion Indians and the nation’s energy sector should introspect. While damaging their credibility, the panic, fear and rumour mongering they have consistently indulged in, will only take them this far and no further! There is no crisis in India. PM Sh @narendramodi Ji has only advised the citizens to moderate energy consumption to prevent any fiscal strain on the economy, not because we had issues with energy supplies! It was a word of caution and prudence. One can understand their desperation but those opposing India’s confident journey ahead should do some homework, and understand the issues before jumping in celebration. While crude prices have nearly doubled globally, impacting even the most developed economies, India has held petrol and diesel prices with continued fuel availability across more than 1 lakh retail outlets and uninterrupted LPG supply to 33.5 crore households. For now, our OMCs are bearing losses of ₹1,000 crore per day and have been able to insulate the energy consumers from impact of global volatility. We have taken strong measures to turn this challenge into an opportunity. India has diversified crude sourcing from 27 countries in 2006-07 to 41 countries today and is ensuring uninterrupted supplies from routes that are not impacted by the geopolitical situation. We strategically hold enough energy for 74 days, and continue to further expand our capacity. All these are signs of a robust economy, not one in any difficulty! #CIIAnnualBusinessSummit26 #CII4India

#IranWar#ModiAppeal #Gold

PM Modi’s appeal to Indians is a reminder that national strength is built through collective responsibility and conscious choices. Addressing a gathering in Hyderabad, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called upon citizens to help India navigate global economic disruptions, supply chain challenges, and inflationary pressures arising from international conflicts. Key appeals made by PM Modi: 1️⃣ Reduce petrol and diesel consumption
• Use metros and public transport wherever available
• Opt for car-pooling when private vehicles are necessary
• Prefer railways for movement of goods
• Increase adoption of electric vehicles 2️⃣ Revive Covid-era efficiency measures in national interest
• Work-from-home wherever feasible
• Online conferences
• Virtual meetings 3️⃣ Help conserve India’s foreign exchange reserves
• Avoid unnecessary foreign travel, overseas vacations and destination weddings
• Promote domestic tourism and celebrations within India
• Avoid non-essential gold purchases for one year to reduce pressure on forex outflows
• Prioritise Made-in-India and locally manufactured products, including daily-use items like shoes, bags and accessories
• Reduce edible oil consumption for both economic and health benefits 4️⃣ Appeal to farmers
• Reduce chemical fertiliser usage by 50%
• Move towards natural farming practices
• Protect soil health and reduce import dependence
• Adopt solar-powered irrigation pumps instead of diesel pumps India has overcome challenges before through unity and discipline. PM Modi’s message is clear: every citizen can contribute to strengthening India’s economic resilience.

#WATCH | Jewar, UP | BJP MLA Dhirendra Singh says, "... The day the site opened (for flight tickets at Noida International Airport), I noticed that the tickets displayed on the site were over Rs 5,000, but at the same time, if we had taken a ticket from Delhi Airport, for a Lucknow to Delhi flight, the fare would have been around Rs 3,000... The VAT on turbine aviation fuel is 1% here, while at Delhi Airport it is 25%. People should have benefited from this difference. I am not happy with the arbitrary actions of private companies. As an MLA, it was my duty... I have requested the Prime Minister, the Aviation Minister, and those associated with Aviation in the Indian government, and the Chief Minister and the Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh, to consider this matter..."

At the risk of being unpopular, I do believe there will be an increase fuel prices since we can’t have oil companies bleeding Rs 1000 crores a day (it’s still the taxpayer’s money) and controlling prices artificially doesn’t make sense either. Economists on @X please weigh in.

So, Mandal is not acting alone. It is whole party that is sending a signal to Savarnas that you don’t matter and @BJP4India will do anything to divide Hindus on caste lines as soon as elections get over. Their push is to position the party as ‘dalit focussed party’, which is not wrong, but when you purposefully ignore upper caste groups, bracket them with jihadi Muslims, we know your intent. Thank you for being quick with it this time. Your ‘ek hain to safe hain’ and ‘batenge to ketenge’ to divisive caste politics took some time after 5 elections last year.
Amit Malviya@amitmalviya

What we have witnessed in these elections is not just an electoral trend, it is a social verdict. Across states, SC and ST communities have spoken with clarity and conviction, rejecting those who sought to patronise them while disrespecting one of their own, President Droupadi Murmu. West Bengal’s 2026 Assembly results mark a decisive political realignment in reserved constituencies. Out of 68 SC seats, the BJP won 51 (75%), leaving just 17 for the TMC, signalling a clear consolidation of Dalit support. In ST seats, the shift is even sharper: the BJP swept all 16, reflecting a uniform mandate across tribal regions like North Bengal and Junglemahal. Overall, the BJP secured 67 of 84 SC/ST seats, reducing the TMC to 17 and wiping out other parties. Reserved constituencies, once fragmented and contested, have now become a pillar of the BJP’s dominance. This outcome shows deep social penetration among historically marginalised groups. The consolidation of the Matua community, particularly in border districts, further powered this surge. In Assam, the BJP and its allies have achieved near-total consolidation in reserved constituencies. Of the 9 SC seats, the BJP won 5, while the NDA secured 8, leaving just one for the Congress. Among the 19 ST seats, the BJP won 13, and with allies like the AGP and BPF, the NDA swept all 19. Delimitation played a structural role, increasing ST seats from 16 to 19 and SC seats from 8 to 9, amplifying indigenous and tribal representation. Strong coordination with allies and sustained outreach in Upper Assam and hill regions ensured this comprehensive victory. The momentum extended to the south as well. NDA ally AIADMK won 9 out of 46 SC reserved seats and 1 of 2 ST seats in Tamil Nadu. In Puducherry, NDA ally AINRC secured 2 out of 5 SC reserved constituencies. This is more than numbers, it is a message. Communities that have long been spoken for are now speaking for themselves. The insult to President Droupadi Murmu has not been forgotten, and the ballot has become the instrument of response. The BJP’s rise in SC/ST reserved constituencies reflects not just political expansion, but a deeper alignment with aspirations, dignity, and representation.
