@ChennaiREUpdate CBN will make vizag and/or amravati cosmo. Previously given one large state, focus was on Hyderabad only. Once that happens, Chennai will lose even more ground.

@ChennaiREUpdate Chennai airport is pretty decent. It is not the airport which is the problem. The only reason bangalore snd Hyderabad have picked up so much because they have become cosmopolitans. Unfortunately, both go together and Chennai is trying to be one without the other.

Chennai RE Updates
Chennai RE Updates@ChennaiREUpdate·
Hyd and Blr's international airports are today seen as gatewaysto the south of India, a position which was once strongly held by Chennai. An airport that is crumbling in front of our eyes, maintained like a bus terminus, with multiple routes being pulled out / discontinued while the other 2 airports benefit, is only going to further stall our state's growth. The capital of one of India's leading growth engine deserves an airport that speaks World Class the moment we step foot onto. Chennai’s MAA is bursting at the seams — handling ~23M passengers but stuck with limited expansion space & urban congestion. While BLR & HYD race ahead with new routes & world-class infra, we’re losing connectivity. We are already behind by 10 years!! It is time we go ahead with Parandur Greenfield Airport to unlock our economic future.

OLA ELECTRIC RESULTS DELAY: SHOULD INVESTORS WORRY? Ola Electric has postponed its board meeting for FY26 and Q4 results from May 18 to May 20, citing “scheduling constraints.” A two-day delay may appear minor but retail investors are eagerly waiting for the FY 27 guidance. 1. SENTIMENT MATTERS MORE THAN JUST DELAY Ola Electric is already under intense investor focus because of: slowing EV demand growth, rising competition, pressure on margins, battery strategy execution, and concerns around scaling profitability. In such companies, even small governance or communication changes can impact market sentiment disproportionately. 2. MARKET EXPECTATIONS ARE VERY HIGH Investors are waiting for clarity on: vehicle deliveries, gross margin trends, battery manufacturing roadmap, cash burn, future funding needs, and path to EBITDA profitability. If results disappoint on any of these metrics, volatility could increase sharply. 3. EXECUTION RISK REMAINS THE BIGGEST ISSUE Ola is trying to build: EV vehicles, battery cells, software ecosystem, charging network, exports, and possibly global ambitions — simultaneously. That creates enormous capital and execution pressure. 4. RETAIL INVESTORS SHOULD TRACK ONE KEY THING The biggest question is no longer just “growth.” It is:Can Ola build a sustainable EV business before competition and cash burn catch up? Because in capital-intensive industries, scale without profitability can eventually become a market concern. OLA's FY27 Outlook: Is Ola Electric Heading for a Comeback or Crisis? One thing that feels under-discussed in all the conversations about attracting foreign capital into India is the Indian diaspora. There is a large population of NRIs who are emotionally and financially interested in investing in India. But today, for many of them, the process of opening accounts, completing documentation, and actually investing in Indian markets is still far more painful than it needs to be. Making life easier for NRIs could be one of the lowest-hanging fruits for attracting long-term capital into India. This is something we’ve been focusing on heavily at @zerodha as well. Over the last year or so, we’ve made several changes to make investing as seamless as possible for NRIs. But there are still many frictions that exist because of regulatory and compliance requirements. Hopefully, SEBI and the government look at this more closely and think about how to make it easier for NRIs to bring money into India and participate in Indian markets. For a country trying to attract global capital, the Indian diaspora seems like the most obvious place to start.

@InvestorOfJAMMU India produces nothing. Even for indigenous made cells we are dependent on China for raw materials. Forget about the cells themselves. What India needs is mass transportation like metro to have 100 times more coverage. That way even if imports of EV done, ROI is high.

India need Electric Vehicle adoption at a large scale. Our nation produce Electricity independently. So whatever we pay for electricity, it remains in India. Petrol prices should be hiked significantly to force people buying Electric Cars and Bikes. We can't donate lakhs of Crores to Saudi Arab, US and Russia for Crude Oil. Enough is enough.
Margin of Safety🇮🇳@InvestorOfJAMMU

Petrol price hiked by ₹3.04 per litre to ₹97.77 per litre in Delhi. It is still below Mumbai price of ₹103.5 per litre.

@traphikp @IRInvesting Given parts quality is questionable as per service history, I would expect a lot of acrimony in that relationship. May not be even surprised if most suppliers have come together to not supply to Ola. It is a tight ecosystem and favours loyalty over just pure financial incentive

@traphikp @IRInvesting They like any other manufacturing unit have to run on their part supplier credits unless it is 100% vertical integration. Part supplier credits run on significant trust built over time in India. Not just outstanding orders but the above plus cell yields dictate supply scaling.

In 1st June 1681, Mughal emperor Aurangzeb sent a farman to Subedar of Bengal ordering him to destroy Jagannath temple of Puri. At that time at least 7 lakh rupees was being collected annually by Mughals from Hindu devotees visiting the temple. But still Aurangzeb decided to send this order. At that time also there was no conflict between the local king i.e., Khordha Gajapati and the Mughals but still he sent this order.

Ola electric set to report Q4 earnings on May 18th , it would be the lowest earnings ( below 400 crore) and probably the management would point to the bottom in sales is in and it’s only upwards from here 🫡

@geniusparadox What most of you miss that developed countries have commercial support structure is built in to handle family issues. Out in India, starting from the spouse to parents to kids to uncles and aunts, there is plenty of dependency. 10 minute delivery solved some hassles here.

I have visited multiple customers in Western Europe who start work as early as 6 am and go home by 2. Some come by 7 and go by 3. Almost nobody starts later than 8. While at work, its only work. No personal calls, no random talks. They take their coffees to their table and continue working as they sip their coffee. They leave when they are supposed to leave. No unnecessary overtime and definitely no “oh look, i work so hard” gimmicks. Even China works this way. 1 Chinese employee does as much work as 4 Indian employees. Thats their level of efficiency. That is also how a team of 20-25 people can generate revenue of over 10 million Euros in western Europe without breaking a sweat. The old employee I engaged in Poland was one such professional from whom I learnt a lot about ethics and etiquette. We had a deal that he would come after hours of his new job by about 3:15 pm and work till sun down. And as per his word, man would pull into the drive way every day between 3:10- 3:15 pm. He would go change to work clothes, get to the shop floor, place his phone on the work table and get to work. We would work together for the next 2.5-3 hours in which duration he wouldn’t even as much look towards his phone, let alone pick it up to ‘take a break’. And he is one of the most knowledgeable people i have met about cnc machining till date. No air of arrogance or entitlement. Come in- work- take the pay- shake hands and go home. This is a culture i am struggling to bring about in my factory. Even my highest paid shopfloor manager is on “ghar se phone” or “gaon se phone” almost an hour a day cumulative even while he is working. We are least efficient of the lot. It has become one of the missions of my life to bring in efficiency and discipline to the boys and girls at my work place till they are around. It should become a norm that 8 hours is adequate to achieve deliverables which we presently struggle even with 4 hours of OT everyday! Gen Z is worse in this. I am hoping the one after is better atleast.
Karan@karanrajan

No one takes a 3 month vacation. It's usually 4, max 6 weeks It's because the rest of the time they are super productive. Start the day early, 8am on avg No personal calls at the work place No multiple chai/sutta breaks No chit chat about personal lives except during lunch break

@AgarwalKarnav @CA_DeepakJoshi @bhash @tarunsmehta The issue is Ather did a lot of fixing as part of a limited launch in Bangalore and then the southern cities. Ola’s product even today behaves unpredictability. If it works, excellent. If not, gone.

@guy54532718 @CA_DeepakJoshi @bhash @tarunsmehta ....that's where post sales service network arrives. Sure tech team plays a key role in EV scooters but most issues in Ola & even Ather are still non-tech related that lead them to service centres. Ola tech team issues came later, their other issues (physical ones) popped up...

@AgarwalKarnav @CA_DeepakJoshi @bhash .,although he should have stabilized it during launch itself or right after it. Playing Russian roulette with tech teams always guaranteed to hurt. That is where @tarunsmehta takes cake. Leaves it to the CTO to decide launch success criteria. At Ola, tech mostly wipes floor.

@AgarwalKarnav @CA_DeepakJoshi There is only one thing wrong with @bhash. He does not have his tech people anymore. Would have helped him a lot today to stabilize the product. It is totally unstable. Service is just the symptom. Marketing efforts are overcompensating at this point and shows the fragility.
