So, without telling anyone, Dave Grohl brought his giant smoker and cooked/fed barbecue and sides for 500 folks at Hope Mission in L.A. during the storms. Paid for it all. Worked 16 hours. So, when the aliens get here and ask “who’s in charge?”, I think we take them to Dave Grohl.

When will our country’s elected officials wake up and see that the rhetoric of our leaders is costing lives, that our gun laws are costing lives, that allowing white supremecy to persist is costing lives. This must end.

You are Morehouse men. There is no room on this earth you can’t enter with your head held high. You will likely encounter people in your life, as I have, who want to make you feel like you don’t belong but when you respect your own body of work, that is all the respect you need.

One other thing I’ve learned over the years... never be ashamed to speak up to defend basic rights that thousands of women who came before us gave up lives, families & freedom to give a voice to the voiceless. You dont have to agree to respect equal rights are deserved by all.

@mcuban Isn’t the question why does state funded education end at the high school level? That made sense when it provided the education for majority of jobs? Shouldn’t we be trying to raise the expectation of the scholastic level of the entire base? Meaning university or vocational?

In the Tapper administration it will become law that when there’s a government shutdown the first people to lose their paychecks are the ones in charge of negotiating funding for the government — top officials of the executive and legislative branches.

I see there is a push for scientists, especially those writing about climate change, to be hired as Op-Ed writers for major papers. I wholeheartedly endorse. I don't think you can call yourself a responsible journalistic entity in today's world without giving a voice to science.

At 7am, my son says to me, “Mom, it’s Thanksgiving Day! So now we can have pumpkin pie for breakfast.” I informed him that it doesn’t quite work that way, but admit I had some difficulty explaining an acceptable reason why we couldn’t.

I am grateful for the next generation of leaders -- the young people who are tolerant, creative, idealistic and doing the work to create the world as it should be. Who understand that hope requires action. From the Obama family to yours, Happy Thanksgiving.
