Still awaiting official deals, as Phase 2 of expansion is now officially closed.
Phase 3 begins on Wednesday, and will see existing teams protect three more players either under contract, or with their rights held by the team.
For Ottawa, my guess: Hughes, Kadirova, Woz

@gwynesis @crowrowly They had time to negotiate before the EFOs were submitted though, right? Why plan to build a team around a player who absolutely refused to play there?

so, cayla and hannah sign with detroit on the selling point that hilary was going there but detroit uses their EFO on daryl, which then forces hilary to go to vegas instead as their EFO,,, and then they're still allowed to get hilary and force vegas to trade her to detroit...

if you haven’t seen “The Rise: The Inaugural Season of the PWHL” on peacock it’s incredible, i am sobbing over how selfless kendall coyne-schofield was in the creation of the pwhl. she never expected to even play in it, she just wanted more for the players that came after her

@gwynesis It’s complicated because the EFO lists were submitted first and are binding. The league should have told all players who appeared on the lists regardless of ranking. the league has to approve and process all contracts and I’m guessing that was where the hold up happened.

@gwynesis what i'm hearing is detroit signed a player to a standard agreement & vegas wanted them as efo AFTER they already signed with detroit. like did the pwhl really not think of this as a potential situation when they made the expansion plan😭😭

@gwynesis It gets to a point, Ik you’re stuck going to a desert but girl just get a decent salary and get it over with, we’re all bored here 😭

I thought both wanted her at the same time, in which case, vegas should get her (efo)
but ofcourse, likely for this league to be running into these issues
