I took a friend to the GP today. It’s closed for lunch so a small but orderly queue had formed outside. We all got chatting enjoying the sun. Young mum with beautiful tiny baby in pram, parasol, beautiful summer outfit & bringing baby to get her 8week jabs 2.10pm. My heart fell & I could have cried. She then puts on a niqab (face covering), leaves her rucksack on the seat and stands by the Tube door whilst it’s still moving. Tube comes to a stop and she starts leaving without her rucksack. So I’d been sitting there for what seemed like an age, looking at her about to leave, at the rucksack and wondering what the point would be of blowing up a nearly empty Tube carriage. In the most low-key British way I shout after her - ‘excuse me, I think you’ve forgotten something’ and she runs back into the carriage to retrieve her rucksack. Phew!

Did you live in a cold water flat when you were married at 18 and have a kid? Did you work 3 jobs? Did you tak the city bus for years to and from work? Did you rent an apartment for 17 years before buying your first modest home? No? I didn't think so You have no idea what hard work is.

My high school dropout boomer parents got married at 18 and 17 and lived in a cold water (no hot water) flat in the core city of St. Louis. They had three kids and rented apartments for 17 years before they bought their first modest home. They both worked multiple jobs and drove beater cars or took the city bus. AND they were thankful because they didn't have to do all of that during the depression which was worse. This was the common experience of most of our neighbors as well. That's why they were called working class. You are so spoiled and pampered you have no idea. Sit down and shut up You can complain and blame others or you can work your rear off for decades with no vacation.

The whole reason, France, Benelux etc. 🇫🇷 exist today is because of this heroism. My grandparents could grow up in a liberal democracy. Without the U.S. they would be raised at the H*tler Youth. We Europeans would still be in wars again and again, like 1914, 1866, 1870, 1795 etc. They brought peace, democracy, liberty and human rights. They invested billions of U.S. Dollars into Europe with the Marshall Fund. They gave us more than we ever had in our history before. They protected us for 7 decades with hundreds of thousands of soldiers against the cruelties of the Soviet Union. The terror we can see nowadays in Donetsk, would have happened in Bavaria, Bourgogne or the Netherlands in 1950 if there wasn’t the U.S. 🇺🇸 Who do we Europeans think we are to let that nation down, act like bad allies, calling their President names every day on television - and have full confidence we stand better alone. All of instagram is just about, why we’re better than the U.S. We owe them so much. We Europeans are most arrogant species on earth. And to cure this we have to face the truth.
