@MovieMantz Always The Doomsday Machine for me. But The Enterprise Incident, Immunity syndrome, Devil in the Dark and Balance of Terror are also great comfort food episodes.

@RobertPicardo I know there've been a lot of grumpy ppl out there about Starfleet Academy -- I just gotta say -- any day I get to watch new Star Trek is a good day! I'm very sad we won't get beyond Season 2. I am thankful for 2 seasons of Prodigy - and now 2 seasons of SFA! TY!

@Dan_Leckie I didn’t expect to like the show. Seems Discovery was always about epic universe ending stakes that took away from character. #StarTrekStarafleetAcademy had a great blend of sets, Visuals, character moments, stories, a little bit of sexy, a little bit of chaos-and heart.

I always find myself rewatching The Fellowship every holiday season. I’m not sure why & I’m not sure if I’m the only one. Maybe because this came out right around Christmas, which is when I saw it in theaters? But I’ll probably watch this ever holiday season until the day I die.

@gaghyogi49 I also find this entirely fascinating and enjoy reading each post. You do you. I always find it fascinating that not a single turbo lift (except perhaps when it became a major plot point) shows an interruption of carpet from Bridge to Turbolift for an otherwise "shifting room"

This weekend, I have been accused of pedantery, have been told to get a life and to touch the grass, so maybe it's time to explain (again) what started me on all that ready room window research: So, when I went through the ready room scenes in all of TNG, looking for (unrelated) changes to the set, I noticed how the directors and cinematographers used the window to show Picard's state of mind. Whenever he has to make a tough decision, he looks out the window. There were also episodes in which the reflections in the window, usually of people Picard is talking to, where effectively and creatively used. Then there are all the scenes in which warp streaks were added into the window in post production. Sometimes, these warp streaks were changed for the remastering of TNG, to correct mistakes concerning the angles of the streaks and the reflections in the ready room table. That is why I decided to focus on these details, all from a production point of view, to highlight the work of the directors, cinematographers and FX artists. Along the way, I discovered some bloopers (a bluescreen visible in one episode, for example) and other small details, like the change of the window frame for "Generations". My point of view is always the production perspective, not the in-universe explanations that can easily be found. In universe: who cares whether there are 14 or 15 rectangles between the window frame chevrons. From a production point-of-view, however, this means the set was modified and that is interesting. I ask myself, why a set or prop was created in a certain way and then was modified when its limitations became apparent or the director wanted to try something different. I like having a small daily Star Trek research project that doesn't take long and that I can do, even after a long day of work. Just 10 minutes of looking at one room in one episode, taking a screenshot and writing about it. I find this kind of research distracting and relaxing. It brings me joy. Of course, once I've reached the end of a season or a show, I take a look again at everything I have learned over the course of a few months and try to put together the puzzle pieces to look at the larger picture. How and why was a set modified over the course of several years, why were some practices (adding warp streaks in post) dropped and how prevalent were certain camera angles or shots. Again, I do this because I like doing this and sharing my findings. It brings me joy. That is pretty much enough and I'm sorry you were not fully prepared for this level of thoroughness! #IDIC 🖖

@TheCinesthetic Lack of Anthony Hopkins- and it got all wonky who the audience was meant to care about.

I have edited or written 6 of these enormous books on directors and franchises. Which director or franchise would you like me to do next? (Not that I have a choice but we can always dream...)

@gaghyogi49 I thought I heard that. Was meaning to check if it was actual Klingon music from VI or an homage like they did in Picard :)

I love the score of #StarTrekSNW's "Shuttle to Kenfori". Right before this moment, you can hear bits of Jerry Goldsmith's Klingon theme and the references to the "Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country" soundtrack were splendid and so cinematic! Nami Melumad outdid herself again!

@gaghyogi49 I believe this is because he’s always trying to compete with that friend from the academy of his who is always boasting about getting the engine efficiency just that little bit higher. So he’s always tinkering and needs access. :)

In this shot from #StarTrekTNG's "The Nth Degree", you can see that Geordi's engineering console seems to be held together by dark grey tape. Two screws are hidden under the tape, another one is still visible.

Over the weekend, my blog had its 3,000,000th view. If you like #DepecheMode and want to read what is basically a load of nonsense about them, do check it out. Thanks to everyone who's ever had a peek at it. More on the way soon... almostpredictablealmost1.blogspot.com

I spend around 75% of my free time researching #StarTrek. I love doing this work, I'm (mostly) intrigued by what I find and I love sharing it. Going through all episodes of #TNG in 10 days, looking for changes to the ready room couch? I'll do it and I share my research freely. If you don't like what I find, you can comment and I'll mostly ignore you. But if you use my research (= my screenshot collages) to express how much you dislike, detest or hate something: I'll block you. I don't spend 75% of my free time to fuel or multiply your negativity. I'm positive and I share this with others. Bye bye! 🖖

I'm happy that my knowledge of the #StarTrekTOS Enterprise bridge set has reached the level that I recognize that the right main viewscreen wall panel ("The Corbomite Maneuver"↗️, "The Menagerie II"↘️) was re-used on the Botany Bay in "Space Seed"⬅️. I know, super late to the party! :-)
