We were proud to host #AssemblyEnvironment in Hackney and to showcase how - with the help of @HackneyPower's community energy fund - we're supporting community organisations to generate clean power and save on bills.

⚡️ It’s Community Energy Fortnight! ☀️ @MayorofHackney and @MeteCoban92 paid a visit to @CometCentre, where we're funding Home Energy Action Lab to help Comet assess how they could reduce bills and energy use. All part of @HackneyPower’s community energy fund. #CEF2023

⚡️ Our @hackneypower community energy fund has awarded its first round of funding to help local landmarks generate clean power. @HackneyEmpire, @mildmayclub and @ParkwoodPrimary will all install new solar panels, supported by @stokeyenergy, @CREWEnergyLDN and HEAL.

🏘️ As part of the rollout, every street and housing estate will be served by an EV charging point. The new chargers will be mounted on lampposts or on the street in parking bays and there’ll be a discount for local residents through @HackneyPower.

Hackney is set to be the UK leader in electric vehicle charging, after we signed a contract with @ZestCharging to provide 2,500 new charging points by 2026. ⚡️ Powered by clean energy ☀️ Tackling air pollution 🚗 Decarbonising transport 📽️ @metecoban92 @mayorofhackney
