In other words, the Ford government is willing to back down, at least for now, in the face of overwhelming and broad labour pressure and public support for workers. Keep the boot on the government's neck, folks. It's working.

The greyhound has only ever even attempted to steal two items of human food: A Christmas turkey carcass out of the garbage a few years ago and, yesterday, an entire pork tenderloin wrapped in bacon. Two swings. Two hits. Both grand slams.

I decided to try my hand at embroidery, practicing on my least favourite pair of jeans in case it went terribly. But now that I’ve finished, I think I might have a new favourite pair 👀

Endemic doesn’t mean harmless "Yes, common colds are endemic. So are Lassa fever, malaria and polio. So was smallpox...In other words, a disease can be endemic and both widespread and deadly. 1/ nature.com/articles/d4158…

So, many people have been asking why it is useful to still limit contacts, test where possible, wear a mask and be discretionary in limiting to ‘most needed’ contacts and events for a while….it reduces risk to those around you if you do get COVID. Here’s an example. 1/7

Wearing a mask during global pandemic triggered by highly contagious, brain-shrinking virus means: You understand some pretty basic physics. You understand/seek current scientific knowledge. You care about your fellow humans. There's no political statement in any of that!

@cobaltjacket @MeetJess Right?! I’m stuck thinking of my parents, my immunocompromised friends, my kid under 4… and even MY booster is waning soon. Here comes BA2 and we’re just hitting the gas. 😩

Since the narrative is our best protection is “get vaccinated”, where can I book an apt for my toddler ? Oh yea, they’re NOT eligible yet. But let’s remove masks and protections 👍🏼 Thanks for officially wanting to infect my unprotected child

@amandalhu @cobaltjacket @MeetJess Absolutely! I’m really shocked everyone (many teachers included!) is willing to take off basic protections when our kids have no immunity yet. My daughter is 4 and has already had covid once. I don’t want her to have it twice before a vaccine! We don’t know the longterm effects.

@cobaltjacket @MeetJess @hakerann Honestly, as long as your son and other immunocompromised folks are at risk from COVID, I’m not going to stop masking. And then will do so whenever I have cold or flu symptoms. Why risk spreading illness when we have to tools to stop it?

There's a big reality gap right now between people who are actively staying on top of COVID research & those who just trust the current guidelines. There's no judgment here, but I'd like to try to communicate the worldview of the former based on what we know about COVID now: 1/

Has the government considered that dropping masks would make people less likely to feel comfortable in indoor public spaces, to travel or support businesses in-person, which can have an impact on the economy? #onpoli #AntiScienceGovt #VoteFordOut

It's taken 46 days for the reports to come in, but as of today, we can say that Ontario's Omicron Wave was responsible for the deadliest day of the pandemic. The 85 people who died of COVID on Jan. 22 is most of any day, passing April 19, 2020. The Omicron wave was v. bad.

Following the formula we’ve seen for the past 4 years - here’s the float to the media of a change they are considering, now @fordnation is going to make the decision based on how the public reacts. Time to reach out to your MPP and tell them how you feel #OntEd 1/2
