Stop #4 in @HaywoodSchools for #AcceleratingTN2022. Students were learning about sharks; raising money to build a more accessible playground for ALL children; and performing songs from their talent show. A supportive school community was clearly evident.

We are silencing each other. We are creating echo chambers in which our opinions are validated. We are not engaging in respectful discourse. This is not science. This is not public health. We have to change it. Who is with me?

The COVID NPI wars on Twitter are tiresome and a waste of energy. No one is going to convince anyone to come over to their “side” with data. We are all looking at the same (always at least somewhat flawed) data and we all know we can spin it to fit our narrative. 🧵

Lotta interesting data in the new NBC poll, most of it quite grim for Biden and Dems. This also jumped out: by a margin of 65% to 35%, parents more concerned about their child missing out on education than getting COVID at in-person school.

@HaywoodSchools has experienced a tough couple of days due to the sudden passing of one of our amazing @ESWildcats’ teachers. She was young, vibrant & so grateful for her role as a teacher. She was making a difference. Please keep our school & her family in your thoughts. 💜🙏🏼💜

When it’s 6 AM and this catches your eye…the STEAM teacher, Rachel Winberry, supporting and encouraging the learning going on in the math classrooms…🥰 through an array model of multiplication, and in the science and ELA classrooms through the words/vocabulary!💜

We are so very proud of Aljoud, one of our many wonderful third grade students. He was invited to speak at the Haywood County Commission meeting this evening to share about his experiences at East Side. He represented our school and @HaywoodSchools extremely well! 💜🐾

What a wonderful treat of goodies for our staff today. Denise Pearson and Alpha Delta Kappa gave us this tray of yummy treats! Thank you so much for showing this appreciation for the hard work our teachers and staff do!!!

These absolutely wonderful students represented our school well by sharing about themselves, what they like about school, and the ways we celebrate and work hard for those celebrations through a zoom meeting with our school board members and community stakeholders! So Proud!💜
