Tried the newly released Google Gemini Flash 3.6. I took a timed typing test and asked if it was normal. What I liked most about the response was the disclaimer about medical advice, giving the impression that I should consult a medical professional about my typing test results.

They don't do that at Apple. They do ask for a lot though. Lot's of compliance red tape especially with subscriptions, sending data to OpenAI etc. They also typically want you to create a full screencast video showing the app in action so they won't need to guess how it works and what to test. I went through a few rejections before I checked all the boxes.

@maxedapps Unfortunate, but not surprising. It feels like America is heading that way, too. Even my home state, Wisconsin, is heavily leaning towards electing a self-proclaimed socialist as governor this Fall. Anti-data center, defund the police, tax the rich, basically all the usual stuff

We’re drowning in more and more regulation. We‘re drifting into a heavy leftist / socialist direction (despite >50% of Germans NOT electing this). Energy is way too expensive. Loud minorities dictate direction (see above), leading to degrowth, woke nonsense and anti-innovative agendas / policies. I could go on, that’s what’s top of my mind.

Not raising taxes and slashing regulation may be better steps - but sure, Sunday shopping will do, too. I’m sure it’ll save our economy

The thing is: it truly does not matter to me and probably most Germans. Simply depends on what you’re used to. For example, in Bavaria, you can only shop (groceries) till 8pm. In Berlin it’s 10pm. Coming from Bavaria, I never went shopping past 8 when I lived in Berlin. Simply not used to it. I get that it’s weird and strange when coming from a place where Sunday shopping is normal Obviously it’s convenient to not have the restriction but there are more pressing issues in Germany than Sunday shopping :/

@Pirat_Nation Why would you want 128gb ram in a handheld? If you're using the AMD AI 395 chip to run local AI models, surely a handheld would not be ideal for that use case.
