img2threejs v1.3 is now available. 🎋 One photo → procedural Three.js code. No meshes. No manual modeling. GitHub: github.com/hoainho/img2th… v1.3 brings major improvements to geometry reconstruction, material generation, validation, and overall output quality. For this demo, I used the reference image of a CS2 ★ M9 Bayonet | Doppler Phase 3: tradeit.gg/csgo/trade?sea… If you’re new to img2threejs, now is a great time to try it. If you’ve used it before, I’d love for you to compare the results with previous versions. Feedback, bug reports, and PRs are always welcome.

Continuing my experiments with Three.js. This is procedural 3D generated with code, right in the browser.

After testing img2threejs by @NickDevFE, I used the exact same Canyon gravel bike image with Blender MCP. The difference is pretty clear: Blender produced a much more detailed and faithful reconstruction, especially around the frame geometry, cockpit, drivetrain and braking system. img2threejs remains incredibly fast for generating a procedural Three.js result directly from an image, while Blender MCP offers much more control and precision when you want to push the reconstruction further. Same reference image, two completely different workflows. Which result do you prefer?

Image-to-3D tools are leveling up fast. I tested img2threejs by @NickDevFE on a Canyon gravel bike from just one image, and the result is already super promising. Still early, but you can clearly see where this is going. Next, I’m going to test the exact same image in Blender and compare the final output. Repo below 👇

@hamster_wat Tried to get img2threejs working with qwen 2.5 VL and qwen 3 coder for the blockout, without success so far. Did you use claude?

@verymidengineer @tamayurabiyori I know Blender. But there’s an important difference here: this is threejs code, which gives you much more room to experiment with reuse, procedural architecture, and so on.

@hamster_wat @tamayurabiyori refining the model or your workflow? because if it took half a day to come up with that model I think you could have literally just learned blender in that amount of time to build this

Played around a bit with img2threejs and Codex, and I really liked the results. I couldn’t get anything this polished with Blender MCP.

@tamayurabiyori When I tried Blender MCP, I couldn’t get a result I was happy with. But img2threejs produced something that clearly had potential, so I spent half a day refining it with Codex by simply telling it what to improve.

@hamster_wat The result looks impressively polished. Was the biggest difference the initial output quality, or was img2threejs also easier to iterate on with Codex than Blender MCP?
