I’ve always been a believer that whoever wins the Natty should be the preseason #1 the following season. UCLA presents a special circumstance because they lost their entire starting 5 & a handful of others to graduation. If I were to follow my own rules, then my preseason Top 5 would be: 1. UCLA 2. South Carolina 3. Texas 4. UConn 5. Michigan If I were to deviate bc of the circumstance, it would look something like: 1. South Carolina 2. Texas 3. UConn 4. Michigan 5. USC

@melville98312 @FSUStan4L @collegesbzone yes and that’s kind of my point, sadly your teammates historically do effect this award. i don’t think we’ve seen a pure hitter win the award with less then 60 RBI ever.

No like Mary said Isas job isn’t to get RBI’s hence her being the leadoff hitter and you can’t compare the bottom of Florida states bottom of the order to the top of uclas like it’s not at all comparable

@FSUStan4L @collegesbzone but my counter point would be Woolery bats behind Megan Grant, someone who also has 30 HR’s and 70+ RBI. She’s technically supposed to be protecting Megan Grant in the lineup and she’s outpacing her in almost every stat

@FSUStan4L @collegesbzone to me it’s not national most consistent player, and isa has been that but woolery has also been 3rd best in BA, and over 500 that’s consistent as you’re going to get so then you gotta pull the other stats and it’s just sadly not close when it comes to run production

@han_ducko @collegesbzone I get what you’re saying, but that’s exactly why batting average matters… it’s not just 4 hits, it’s how often you get a hit every time you step up. Over a full season, the gap between .580 and .530 is massive in terms of consistency.

Woolery is 74 for 140 with 44 XBH
so 4 more hits in 7 less at bats, ya the numbers BA seem drastic but breaking it down i feel it’s pretty small. that’s one game away from being about the same
idk it’s pulling hairs and the 100 RBI pushes it over

@han_ducko @collegesbzone oh absolutely i agree either one can get it and i’ll be okay with it. 530 is insane for sure, no argument. But .530 vs .580/.600 isn’t a small gap — that’s a huge difference over a full season with less AB. Isa is getting a hit almost every at bat, and that’s my argument for her
