I live next to a mens shelter downtown and its far less depressing than living in a sterile nimby desert. There are mixed incomes and many kids around too, and not much crime

@StandingTheGaff Wish I could say it was only a problem north of Bloor St. but its not. The core of the GTA just has a lot of this housing from prior eras. Property owners here fight tooth and nail to keep more from going in. Disgraceful

@StandingTheGaff These are the same attitudes that have kept affordable housing and services out of these midtown communities for decades. All these people care about is their precious property values.
