Wow. That's a beautiful & honorable perception of the world. This mentality actually fits well with the average American. "Give me liberty or give me death." Essentially - I would rather die than be forced into a state of oppression by another. Individual freedom is a core belief of the American people. Sadly, left wing forces have decided to attack this very foundational belief system. Also, not entirely sure about the hand clasping. I think many Christians in the United States take the same mindset towards the world as interactions with folks as a bellasing of fate, but a fate that was determined by god. This is where the internal connection of Christianity seems to fall apart. If all of the Bible is God's word, but Christ came and said "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." This issue causes confusion in christianity I think. Because some sects of Christianity require people to follow old traditions in the Bible. Instead of interpreting the meaning of those words as they were used in the context of their time, people take them at face value and try to apply them to today's world. Which is a very different place. In regards to hand clasping, we're allowed to clasp hands for other things from what I understand. The idea is that all of creation is of gods doing. Therefore if something happens in life, good or bad, it's because of God. It seems like you all feel as if it's because of simply fate of the world. Which is fine, but lots of Christians tie destiny, etc. to "Gods plan". I'm not so sure God predestined everything. He may be all knowing, as in he has access to all potential future actions of everyone and everything all the time, but I am not sure if he forcefully guides the doing of others. Otherwise, the free will part of Christianity gets thrown out of the window. Many people argue that free will exists because God wants you to love him, but on your own accord, and you can't truly love God if the relationship is forced, therefore, free will. By choosing not to have a relationship with God, you've decided, willingly, to be separate from him for all eternity. In the Christian mind, be seperate from God now, can lead to you being separate from God in the afterlife, hence the idea of hell. Many Americans chalk up the topic to, "okay, well, if God is real and I act a fool and deny a relationship with him, in the afterlife, I am screwed. But if he is not real, and we all just fade into darkness, then I haven't really lost much have I?" Living a life that's comparable to the life of how Christ lived is an honorable endeavor nonetheless. I believe our society should be guided on the guidelines of Christ's self help book. Which most of our nation is guided by this mentality. It only begins to fracture and fall apart when evil forces like "transgenderism" or "Islam" try to keep their tentacles into the minute cracks that have formed in the foundation in an attempt to destroy it all and enduce chaos. Just as you said, leave each other be, but when you begin to pry in a coordinated effort, then a defense posture is necessary to save the whole pie.
