This has been going on for a decade, but recently has gotten way worst. But I don’t think it’s exclusive to influencers.
Society as a whole has adopted a sheep mentality, because it’s way easier to turn your brain off and accept information, rather than research for yourself.

@revenant_MMXX As a big Marathon fan, I actually totally agree. They should've just made Marathon like it was Halo 1. Epic campaign, standard multiplayer with Forge and theater type features. I think people are actually craving a modernized version of that experience.

Checking in on Marathon's player base. I think it could have been a much more successful game if they hadn't gone with the tired extraction formula. There's a big appetite for high-quality single player games, it could have had a proper campaign/story with more typical MP modes.

Sega Saturn had an unfortunate demise but ran circles around the N64 regarding quality & diversity even down to the controller. They just didn't have the "Nintendo" name to save them.

@StevenGlinert Tokyo is quite literally the "low" of a Japan trip. It's a great starting spot because it only gets better once you head out and explore. I found this out on my first two trips... My 3rd will spend maybe a day or two in Tokyo before adventuring elsewhere!
