Last year, I packed into a self-contained room in Ikwerre, Port Harcourt.
At first, everything seemed normal. But shortly after I moved in, strange things started happening.
Most nights, as soon as I fell asleep, something would grab me tightly by the neck. I would wake up gasping for air, struggling to breathe for several minutes.
I couldn’t sleep peacefully again after that. Sometimes I would check my food pot and find it wide open, even though I had closed it properly.
Other times, my spoon would mysteriously disappear.
Whenever I returned from work, I would meet my clothes scattered all over the floor, as if someone had flung them around the room in anger.
I endured it for weeks until one night I decided to set a trap.
I placed a big mirror directly opposite the door, then positioned my phone camera facing the mirror so it could capture whatever appeared.
I left the camera recording and went to sleep.
When I woke up the next morning, I played back the video. What I saw sent chills down my spine.
A shadowy figure a ghost was moving around the room.
It walked from one end to the other, clearly visible in the reflection.
That was when I started asking questions about the house from people in the area.
That was how I found out the shocking truth: the original owner of the house had died, and his family had buried him right inside that same room.
His brothers never disclosed it they simply packed out his things and rented the room out to me.
I didn’t even finish the month. I moved out immediately.

A couple moved to a new house in Mushin. After they had settled down, their landlady came to warn them about a strange entity that comes to knock on people's doors at night. The entity was called “Iya Ibeji”, a woman with no face at all, carrying twin wooden dolls. Of course, the couple didn't believe her and dismissed it as a fable. Later that night, after they had gone to bed, they heard a loud knock on the door of the sitting room. When the husband asked who it was, they heard a female voice that said, “It is I, Iya Ibeji that is greeting you. Please open the door, my twins are hungry.” The husband opened the door and saw the thing that stood in the doorway. It was a woman with no facial features. No eyes, no mouth, no ears, no nose, no nothing. As blank as a clean molded slate. And in her hands were two twin wooden dolls. The husband screamed and fainted.
