Dude don’t get me wrong marathon is a neat game but jeez man it’s been a little over 2 months and the game is now starting to fall below destiny 2 in player count. Destiny 2 is in its longest content drought to date.

@Th3_WhiteRabbit @MarathonTheGame You proved my point in your statement. Marathon is too hardcore and yku are more likely to die in the game. Casuals don’t like that. Whoever leads the game doesn’t change the fact that nobody wants to play it. It’s a decent game but not good enough to pull in that many players.

ARC is a huge success. It’s not gonna hold a crazy high player base forever without offering significantly more content in an expansion. Marathon has no excuse for not pulling similar numbers, especially with it having at least twice the production budget. Extractions add a gambling element that I (and others obviously) personally enjoy, but yes Marathon is absolutely way too hardcore which is one of the reasons it hasn’t caught on. It’s actually more hardcore than Tarkov because you’re way more likely to run into other runners.

@Th3_WhiteRabbit @MarathonTheGame The game is flopping because extraction shooters are getting old. It’s too hardcore and most gamers aren’t hardcore gamers. Look at arc raiders the game is also losing its players. Marathon came out during a time when people didn’t want another extraction shooter.

Make me CEO, I’ll save the company. Drop Destiny 2, all hands on deck for Marathon. Immediately design two maps that add a heavy PVE aspect to the game with bosses that take squads working together or multiple solos to take down. Add ABMM, Add safe pockets on rare or higher backpacks. Increase vault space. Create a social hub area for Runners where they can bring items and trade them with other Runners. Bring the concept of seasonal themed events from Destiny to Marathon. Add a firing range/testing area that you can unlock for each corporation/faction that has an emphasis on their products.
