From her PhD, @domenicabraile measured sintering dynamics of chocolate spheres, observing bridge growth and temperature evolution: doi.org/10.1016/j.powt… A semi-empirical model including temperature dependent viscosity was developed to describe the experimental trends.

From his PhD, Francisco used FEM to analyse heat generation by plastic deformation during normal impact, examining the temperature profiles: lnkd.in/eGx_CzJS The FEM model predictions agree well with theoretical models, and temperature rise is driven by thermal inertia.

Group publications this month: @MarvKhala developed a regime map for dry powder coating : lnkd.in/ghhK_tAn Once the host and guest powders are characterised, the map allows the user to determine the mixing energy required to maximise surface area coverage.
