After Brad Faxon followed up, Wood said Fitzpatrick hit his approach on the 11th first, even though he was closer, and walked up to the green, where he waited about 3 min before Dumont de Chassart hit his approach. Rules official Orlando Pope said that Fitzpatrick talked to an official, and they have decided to give Dumont de Chassart an official warning after timing him unofficially since Fitzpatrick’s request.

@LouStagner Good idea but too difficult to implement imo. Who keeps time? When does clock start? But something needs to be done as pace of play is a real issue. In the pro game but also recreational golf too

Golf should try a chess clock.
Each player gets 45 minutes total for the round.
Take 2 minutes on the first tee, and you have 43 left.
Go over and it’s a two-stroke penalty, plus one more stroke for each extra minute. More than 5 minutes over is a DQ.

@EnglandRugby We looked so much better when we played through a few phases. Much better at the breakdown. But when it mattered in last 10 mins we started to kick away possession. Why? Please explain why? Such awful tactics. This tournament is on Borthwick. He has to go!

@AndyGoode10 So much better - makes last 3 matches even more frustrating! Discipline poor AGAIN. Kicking at goal poor. Kicking it away with 90 secs to go is madness - keep ball for few phases & win game. Big moments we lost our heads. That's on mindset which is set by Borthwick. He must go!
