@manlike_Ovie @harji87 @tomilola_ng The simple truth is that the best of the best talents have jobs already. While some of his statements might not be careful phrases, the issues he stated are real.

Imagine the CEO of Chase Bank saying they can't find 500 staff to hire in the United States because of OnlyFans and Twitch streaming.

@Prymefactor @_azxxm_ @tomilola_ng I agree, I was generalizing here, I'm sorry for that, but some Nigerian employees are not saints either, from theft to mismanagement of company property.

@harji87 @_azxxm_ @tomilola_ng So all the companies that employ Nigerians nko? You’d certainly be a horrible employer of labor, given your disdain towards Nigerian talent.

@manlike_Ovie @tomilola_ng I don't think Moniepoint's pay grade is as low as they are painting. I'm not employed there, so I don't know, but I have a colleague I worked with in the past who works there; he left a commercial bank for Moniepoint. I would assume they pay better than most commercial banks

@harji87 @tomilola_ng And America has what? Some of you don’t think. He was totally out of order to have said that. No matter how bad the system is, no way you can’t find qualified 500 Nigerians to fill roles in your company. You want to pay peanuts for people that can get roles abroad remotely.

@RealDamiisdandy Have a question, were you paid the same as your counterparts that where onsite in the foreign company?

lol, I left because the pay wasn’t up to par with previous roles I’ve worked at as a senior engineer. You won’t find good engineers unless they are obsessed with your company or you pay according to global standards. why work at Moniepoint when I can work at a foreign company? I left and chose a foreign company simply because of pay and convenience.
Johnmark Obiefuna@jayhemz

@OoTheNigerian I worked at Microsoft and Andela and was told at Moniepoint that I'm way over budget. This was after taking a massive pay cut after my Microsoft layoff. Tosin and co don't want to pay the requisite cost for senior talent but choose to complain.

“Moniepoint CEO saying he has 500 vacant post in his company but he cannot employ Nigerians because Nigerians are not smart is very d!srespectful. How much is the salary ? Let’s assume it’s 500k monthly, some people can fool on tiktok from morning till night and get more than 500k daily. How much is rent ? if Nigeria gets better, alot of people would leave f00ling and dust their certificates, I have my certificate here, i studied engineering, if Nigeria gets better, I’ll dust it and move into the cooperate world” Phyna fumes at Moniepoint CEO, Tosin Eniolorunda.

Tosin Eniolorunda the CEO of moniepoint said Moniepoint cannot fill 500 roles because Nigerians lack the skills. I need somebody to ask him one question. What is the salary? Because Nigeria’s sharpest tech talent is not unemployed. They are sitting in Lagos, billing in pounds for a company in London, and laughing at every Nigerian employer who still thinks N400,000 is competitive for a senior engineer in 2026. The skills gap is real. The audacity to ignore the pay gap on a public stage is even more real.

@ayinde21 @mrdanielolash @tomilola_ng Why did Trump increase the H-1B visa fee?. Nigeria isn't in the top 3, but we are part of the top 10. Please, you guys should own companies first

@harji87 @mrdanielolash @tomilola_ng Which truth exactly ? Only fans is a very big market in America, will one CEO come out and say that is the reason he can't get talent ? When it comes to fraud in the world, Nigeria isn't even top 3. He can make his statement without referring to those issue.

The issue with us (Nigerians) is our tendency to get emotional about everything. We’re a very emotional people in an environment with low trust. While Moniepoint might have a hiring problem and its pay may not be globally competitive, it’s also possible our talent education system is simply very poor and undeveloped. Both employers and employee need to do better.
Princewill@ThePakuma

Both Tosin of Moniepoint and Bayo of Wakanow have shared their challenges finding employable talent. Even at Founders connect an event a few years ago. He was open to receiving CVs and this was before they got approved to operate in the UK.
