@Michaelfiore Big Brooks Glycerine fan here. Haven’t heard of/seen the Max version. Really that big of a difference between a fresh pair of baseline Glycerine?

Since running shoes with thick foam are trending right now, I’ll tell you what I think of these as a recreational runner.
I’ve had them 2 months now, ran about 80 miles in them so far.
I wear these ONLY when I run because not only do they look goofy, but they’re also awkward to walk in. The thick foam and rocker design feels unstable when walking.
However, everything changes when you actually run in them. The shock absorption is insane and it feels like they propel you forward. Easier on the joints too.
I accidentally ran in my old Brooks the other day (Glycerin 22) and the difference was insane. I hated how my old ones felt by comparison even though I had previously ran a few hundred miles in them comfortably.
I’m also taller and heavier than most runners, so I think this style of extra foam will be my go-to from now on.

New running shoes and, yes, I’m showing you my ankle for free. Bout to take them for a spin, will report back.

@jamesonpenn I usually charge money for this type of advice but go Brooks. You're welcome.

@KyleAsay_ Nothing grinds my gears more than the AEs who just throw in the towel on these accounts.
Some of the largest deals have come from divestitures of existing clients who need to stand up a new tenant. Stay in touch. Stay engaged

@EricSpracklen @VladTheInflator We’re actively looking for a new home, family of four + dog. Absolutely wild seeing the purchase price on listings from 3-4 years ago now close to 2x.
What gives

@realEstateTrent Is it 50/50 rooting for/against you or greater weight on the doubters
English

I’m coming up on five years of being on here every single day, and honestly, my biggest takeaway has very little to do with real estate.
It’s how much I’ve learned about human nature.
The things I was incredibly naive about before social media:
1) How deeply people misunderstand each other
2) How powerful and widespread jealousy really is
3) How much people quietly root against each other

@JamesRuport Super hard for me not to continually go back my Brooks Gylcerine. Such a great shoe IMO.
Currently running in a pair of Mount Coast R1. Super light and enjoyable but won’t be a long term shoe at this point.

With the 30y peaking and the little nugget below, what could go wrong??

@SawyerMerritt @Starlink Wishful thinking but maybe we will get 1:1 MQDs for every dollar spent with Prime

Delta Airlines CEO in new interview on why they chose Amazon Leo over @Starlink:
“Amazon brings a lot more than just satellite technology. They bring great retailing capability and Amazon Prime and video gaming technologies, which Starlink does not have. I think the opportunities, in terms of the improved bandwidth with a much lower price point than what we’ve ever seen from Starlink, will make a big difference. Of course, we expect Starlink will be warning people that we’re going to go with an inferior product. But I’m not too worried about partnering with Amazon.” bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

@alliekmiller I am, and will continue to be long and extremely bullish on Google.

Google just announced agentic coding in search.
Based on your search, Gemini processes your ask, decides whether it should build a new interface, reasons through the steps, and creates a personalized interface for you.
It’s powered by Antigravity. Sort of like artifacts.
This is going to be how hundreds of millions of people first experience agentic coding.
I think this is one of their biggest announcements of the day.

@Hybridathlete I get all the counter arguments here and yes, the hold merit but I’m fully aligned with your perspective.
Maybe one day The Enhanced Games will merge with the Olympics

I don’t understand this.
If he's not competing for prize money or qualification spots, who cares?
I mean, should USATF ban anyone who runs any of their races, regardless of how good they are, who has taken a peptide or is on any banned substance?
They'd be banning hundreds of people every race.
Do you really think that's what they should be spending their time and money doing?
Personally, I could not care less if someone on any amount of PEDs beats me in anything unless we are competing for prize money, awards, or qualification spots.
If I go run a 5K and finish 2nd to some guy who's using EPO, I do not care at all.
Now, if I'm competing in, say, a Hyrox event and I finish second and the guy who beats me gets a qualification spot to the World Championships, then I care.
Or if I was good enough to be trying to get an Olympic Trials qualifying spot and someone who beat me was on PEDs, then I would be pissed.
But if I'm just running a random marathon, even reasonably fast, say 2:40, and someone on PEDs beats me, again, I do not fucking care at all.
Not even a little bit.
I'll never understand why people get so upset at those who used PEDs and compete recreationally, especially if they are open about it.

@DanReese21 @hoka I’d like to think of it as a promotion to lawn mowing. My Brooks Glycerin just accepted the offer last night.
English

I’m feeding families at @hoka
This is just since my last garage clean out.
After running ~450 miles on a pair I’ll either clean them up & donate or demote to walking shoes (and then demote again to lawn mowing shoes)
Used to be a Nike guy but now I’m a Hoka loyalist.

@dvassallo Will never forget my first marathon. Felt like a million bucks cruising past the 13.1 line only to hit “the wall” at mile 19.
Poor fueling amongst other things but make no mistake, the wall is real ha
English

@realEstateTrent I’m more surprised you actually got a quote. I called five painters/LVM to repaint our exterior and only got one call back. He got the work
English

@JohnGoldman Shit day or not, you put in the work. Not every day is gonna be perfect. It's more than most can say. Keep grinding.
English

Running is such a fickle bitch. Yesterday I had a great session. Felt like a million bucks. Today I felt like ass and cut my long short by ten min. Pace and HR were just no where near it should be.
Yes it’s 76 degrees now. Lots different than 30’s and 40’s.
Deep caloric deficit as well.
It’s just gonna be shitty for a few weeks I think
Fitness is building. It’s just not able to express itself. In time. And until then just keep stacking.

@hbf_alex @NestorLRamos @Tesla @RobinhoodApp How does this work? I haven't really explored or played with the Shortcuts app
English

The @Tesla app might be the best app on my phone behind messenger and @RobinhoodApp
But is it possible to integrate it with SIRI? I would love to say “hey siri, open the 📐 frunk” as I’m leaving the grocery store to seamlessly put my groceries in without staying in front of it for 5 seconds, pull up the app or press the frunk button.
