The big World Cup hotel boom? Not according to the hotels themselves.
The American Hotel and Lodging Association has put out a pretty damning member survey, suggesting hotel bookings are highly under expectations in most US World Cup markets

The idea that there is a third hand in the sudden wave of “anti-immigration” protests, particularly a hand of capital is not far-fetched. The central role of the hostels, should prove this to us.
A few months ago I read an opinion piece from an Israeli based publication, calling for the decentralisation of SA along ethnic lines, suddenly hostel dwellers led by the Ntelezi twins are on a tour of SA trying to stir unrest.
At the dawn of SA’s democracy, in order to undermine the idea of a democratic and black-led government, the Apartheid regime funded and armed black on black violence in SA, and at the centre of their strategy was the mobilisation of hostels.
The hostels were the hub of firearms, spears and centres of violence in black communities. These hostels have been activated again, now to foment unrest in the country regarding illegal immigration.
It is not a coincidence that the Ntelezi crew had to bus themselves to East London and could not mobilise organically there, the hostel base and cells do not exist in East London. They don’t exist in Cape Town or Limpopo either.
The employers who hire cheap and illegal immigrant labour are not held responsible, the government which is failing to manage the borders is not held responsible, but rather, hostels are mobilised into vigilante groups, and urged by desperate politicians who recruit people today and make them Mayoral candidates tomorrow, based on how popular they are in relation to this violence.
There is no political party that will regret their association with this more than Action SA. They already distanced themselves in East London when they encouraged something they could not finish, the same is inevitable in Gauteng and KZN.
This is not organic, and it would be naive for any observer to think so. There is an attempt to undermine SA’s moral authority to question Israel’s genocide. First it was white genocide which failed, now it’s a funded and hostel centric project to harm immigrants.

Windhoek Started the Race for Africa’s Cleanest City. Kigali Is Still Winning.
Windhoek, Namibia was once Africa’s benchmark for urban cleanliness. But in 2013, it lost the title to Kigali, Rwanda — and hasn’t won it back since.
Now, the city is fighting to reclaim it.
“The Windhoek Clean-Up Campaign” has officially launched, targeting litter, illegal dumping, and public apathy. Though Windhoek remains Africa’s second cleanest city, Rwanda’s capital has maintained its lead through consistent policy, community mobilization, and enforcement.
Namibia may have started the campaign for clean African cities. But for now, Rwanda is still setting the standard.
(First two frames are Namibia and the two last Rwanda)

Mfundo Vilakazi’s cryptic post sparks Chiefs drama, is he unhappy?
Kaizer Chiefs rising star Mfundo Vilakazi has set tongues wagging after a cryptic social media post that many believe is a subtle dig at his current situation at the club.
The 20-year-old fan favourite has struggled for consistent game time since his promotion to the senior team. Despite showing flashes of brilliance off the bench, Vilakazi is yet to cement a place in the starting XI, something that appears to be weighing on him.
Now, his latest Instagram activity has only fuelled speculation.
Vilakazi shared a post originally written by Zakhele Lepasa, formerly of Orlando Pirates and now with Siwelele FC, praising Luis Díaz following his impressive performances for Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League.
“Every player performs at their best in an environment where they're truly appreciated. At Liverpool, he showed flashes of brilliance, even without fully feeling that backing. But now? He looks like a complete machine. Appreciate your players, and they'll do everything for you,” Lepasa wrote a message that struck a chord.
Vilakazi reposting those words has been widely interpreted as more than just admiration. Many fans believe it reflects his own frustrations at Naturena, where opportunities have been limited despite his evident talent.
The young midfielder’s situation raises questions about whether Chiefs are fully unlocking his potential or holding him back.
Is this just motivation? Or a quiet cry for recognition? Only Vilakazi truly knows.
