Brilliant Athletic Article highlights just how bad football operations are inside #mufc:
•Scouts valued Antony at £25M. Brought him for £85M.
•Atalanta said they would let Hojlund leave for £50M. Man Utd said they would pay £60M & ended up paying £72M.
•Ten Hag made it clear when he first joined United he wanted an experienced ST, LCB, and midfielder that could mould De Jong. His LCB came from Ajax, but he never got a ST & then got a midfielder the complete opposite of De Jong in Casemiro.
Ten Hag then missed out on key targets the following season in Min Jae & Kane and still hasn’t got his midfielder that can mould De Jong.
While the football at Man Utd has been poor, it is very obvious Ten Hag never got key players he wanted and had to adapt his system because of this.
Yes we spent a lot of money, but that is not Ten Hag’s fault when the board are stupid enough to panick and over pay for Antony instead of looking elsewhere at RW’s.
