@neiltyson It's presumptuous and a touch narcissistic of you to assume that of course an alien civilization would monolithically agree with you on the sanctity of science, and not just that, but your particular version of science.

If I were ever abducted by Aliens, the first thing I’d ask is whether they came from a planet where people also deny science.

@jarvis_best Don't you have any nasty things to say about Paraguay ahead of tonight's matchup?

Some quick hits before I go get hammered: - It is Friday night and there isn't a playoff game. That is outrageous. Congressional hearings. - I shall be forced to watch soccer like a Communist. - I just found a white eyebrow hair that, when pulled tight, appears to be about 7 feet long. - God loves you. - Have a great weekend friends. - Cheers

@BarryOnHere But Barry, Brady has the counting stats AND the longevity. And that's really what it's all about.

Let's compare Brady, Peyton, Rodgers, Brees & Mahomes. Surely the "GOAT" is the best in SOMETHING other than team stats or counting stats.....right? Especially DURING HIS OWN CAREER.......RIGHT??? Baby cages for fresh air, new York city 1920s-1930s In the 1920s and 1930s, some families living in crowded New York City apartments placed their babies inside wire cages suspended outside apartment windows. Known as “baby cages,” the structures were designed to give infants fresh air and sunlight at a time when doctors strongly believed ventilation helped prevent illnesses like tuberculosis and rickets

@BarryOnHere Jordan made Pippen what he was. LeBron wanted teammates that were already fully formed.

@EsotericCD Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II was a watershed experience for me. Light saber duels and force pushing thugs off ledges. First game where you could do that, I think. Classic. Full Throttle was a trip, too.

The thing is, LucasArts was actually responsible for so much more than just those Star Wars games. They INVENTED the "adventure game" genre of my childhood: MANIAC MANSION and DAY OF THE TENTACLE, the entire MONKEY ISLAND series (all of them genius, esp. the third) and the lunatic comedic joy of SAM & MAX HIT THE ROAD. I might not have even have mentioned your favorite (the INDIANA JONES series? FULL THROTTLE? GRIM FANDANGO?). These were the formative gaming experiences of my childhood, full of humor and lateral thinking. It's a shame that "Disney Star Wars" had no more time for lateral thinking.

If you lived through this era you know this to be true. Kids my age played REBEL ASSAULT, the X-WING/TIE FIGHTER series, and DARK FORCES to death, it was "Star Wars" slotting effortlessly into our childhood gaming lives. (Also, big hat-tip to the LucasArts SNES team - I didn't even realize the SUPER STAR WARS series was supposed to be "hard," I just kept hacking away because I wanted to hear that music.)
Frank J. Fleming@IMAO_

LucasArts was a big part of keeping the love of Star Wars going a decade after Return of the Jedi had been in theaters.

Me: all of this Nazi talk is getting exhausting. Never mind the steady stream of "the Jews" in the timeline. Time to kind of log off. Watch some Comedy. Maybe Seinfeld Turns on Seinfeld:

Jordan had Pippen & Grant drafted to his team by year 4 Magic was drafted to a playoff team with peak Kareem. Bird was drafted to team that surrounded him with multiple HOFers by year 2. Kobe was drafted to a playoff team with Shaq entering his prime Duncan was drafted to a team with an all-time great big man still in his prime Steph's franchise gave him Klay, Draymond, Iguodala & Durant within his 1st 8 years. Kareem got Oscar in year 2 Even Wemby has already been blessed with Harper & Castle by his 3rd year. LeBron's best teammate his 1st 7 years was Mo Williams.

@CNLiberalism We think in terms of centuries, says the leader whose country is expected to lose half of its population by the end of the current century and is desperately trying to corner the market on Russian mail-order brides. It's always propaganda.

@ZODIAC_MF Hell, I'm old enough to remember the promos for the three-part series premiere specifically touting that the three episodes were being directed not only by Hill but also Richard Donner and Robert Zemekis themselves.

NOW - Trump says it's good to have 500,000 foreign Chinese students in the U.S. and for China to purchase U.S. farmland; otherwise, colleges and farm prices would collapse: "I frankly think that it's good that people come from other countries and they learn our culture."

Bill Russell: 11 rings - 12 Finals appearances - 0 losing seasons Kareem Abdul-Jabbar: 6 rings - 10 Finals appearances - 2 losing seasons Michael Jordan: 6 rings - 6 Finals appearances - 5 losing seasons If winning is what matters most, how is Jordan the GOAT exactly? How is he better than Russell or Kareem? I guess MJ didn't have as much killer instinct as them?

@BarryOnHere You're making a longevity-based argument. At least be consistent (where have I heard that before)! Also it's rich penalizing Bird for having one good decade of basketball where he wasn't playing in excruciating pain.

We all agree Larry Bird is without question one of the best NBA players ever right? Okay. Now look at this. Larry Bird career: 25,688 PTS - 6,756 AST - 170.7 Win Shares - 92.6 VORP The difference between LeBron & Bird's career: 26,273 PTS - 7,428 AST - 166.4 Win Shares - 103.9 VORP LeBron has basically doubled Larry Bird's career and morons pretend this is normal or something we've seen before lmao.

LeBron has a 32-31 playoff record in his 63 playoff games with the Lakers. 1 title. 2 Conference Finals. Jordan had a 33-30 playoff record in his 1st 63 playoff games with the Bulls. 0 titles. 2 Conference Finals. The difference is, LeBron was in his 17th season before playing a playoff game with LA, while Jordan was at the height of his individual powers. If you're criticizing LeBron for his time in LA, you're just telling on yourself.
