Rents in San Francisco are sky high because of small amount of land and infinite economic leverage. Rents in my hometown haven’t experienced much inflation.

Fun fact of the day: If you don't think inflation has been the biggest problem in the world over the last century, you have been miseducated by people who get paid by inflation.

@L0RINC @hashtimelock @MrHodl You don't really use Bitcoin, do you? A pruned node means no Electrs, no local mempool.space, no ability to provide IBD etc. It's a castrated node.

I just completed an IBD with Bitcoin Core 0.31 in under 20 hours on my 5 year old laptop. The last time I tried on the same machine, it took multiple days. The difference is insane. Thank you, Bitcoin Core team, for constantly making my node faster and more efficient!

@hashtimelock @L0RINC It has nothing to do with sync time. You still need to validate the chain before you can delete it. It has to do with much of the chain I want to keep on my HD.

@hashtimelock @MrHodl For most people there's no point in keeping all historical blocks, the UTXO set contains all you need to fully validate new blocks. It's like storing Wikipedia vs all historical edits of every page. Most people only care about the latest version.

@hashtimelock Yes, but you still have to go through the entire chain before you can prune anything. I keep around 600GB of it.

@btctmac quality of houses for rent vs. purchases is very different. esp if you want something unique. interest rates are only going up. houses will also likely keep going up since cost of materials is going up and less new supply. immigrants will continue to flood in and more demand
