@cairngum @smelvinsuterus Which is a completely normal sort of pacing to be on. 2012 was an abnormally good year for the magazine. It was lightning in a bottle, not the standard. 2012 being insanely good combined with the absurd longevity pushed onto series gives the illusion of a dominant era.

Shonen Jump is overly cooked. Relying on vets is not the answer to the EIC being unable to find hits among new talent, this just highlights the lack of innovation in WSJ.

@smelvinsuterus @cairngum Akane was only 2 years prior to that. I think it’s worth respecting the Sakamoto Days, Witch Watch, Blue Box, UDUL, Elusive Samurai, from 2020ish. Ruri dragon’s incomplete volume one got reprints on reprints, even if it eventually moved. Someone Hertz is sells insanely well.

SEED was a great time overall, it does have its flaws buts its was a far better show overall then about 80% of the other Gundam AUs and even some UC stuff, I need to buy a Freedom, Providence and Justice now.
