@hasmagoria @smelvinsuterus Yaiba that was maybe the 8th best selling thing in jump pre anime outsells every thing in jump not called one piece currently and that's a healthy jump. Fuck it you got it
English

@cairngum @smelvinsuterus It literally has 2 series, one of which by your own admission, is on par performancewise with KnY so I genuinely don’t know what you’re smoking here.
English

@hasmagoria @smelvinsuterus Even without Haikyu and JJK, MHA, CSM, Act Age modern Jump does not have Ass class (3 years of serialisation) Kimetsu (4) or TPN (4).
KGB is in its 3rd year.
Akane is as long as the 3 I mentioned.
Jump does not have the firepower it once had
English

@cairngum @smelvinsuterus Like yeah the fact that Haikyuu lasted until after Chainsaw Man, Demon Slayer, and My Hero started really creates an illusion of content density when in reality we just don’t make manga go to 300 chapters anymore. We wouldn’t be having this conversation if JJK was still ongoing
English

@cairngum @smelvinsuterus Which is a completely normal sort of pacing to be on. 2012 was an abnormally good year for the magazine. It was lightning in a bottle, not the standard. 2012 being insanely good combined with the absurd longevity pushed onto series gives the illusion of a dominant era.
English

@smelvinsuterus @cairngum I just think the notion that Poop Joke Academy was a taciturn motion by Shueshia because “they’re not Printing enough money” is ludicrous.
English

@smelvinsuterus @cairngum The original post was “WSJ can’t foster a new generation of hits”. Evidently, they can. WSJ just doesn’t force artists to continue their manga for 500+ chapters anymore. Someone Hertz is also newer than both of those series.
English

@smelvinsuterus @cairngum Akane was only 2 years prior to that.
I think it’s worth respecting the Sakamoto Days, Witch Watch, Blue Box, UDUL, Elusive Samurai, from 2020ish. Ruri dragon’s incomplete volume one got reprints on reprints, even if it eventually moved. Someone Hertz is sells insanely well.

Like yeah I guess if you wanna cherry pick and match artists from over 6 years of start dates together against manga releasing literally a year apart from each other
English

Hell arc, Succession War and Seitei War every Sunday in August

Shonen Jump News@WSJ_manga
According to multiple leaks, BLEACH by Tite Kubo will be returning to Weekly Shonen Jump with a 'Hell Arc' serialization. SAKAMOTO DAYS by Yuto Suzuki will be ending in the upcoming weeks, freeing a slot in the magazine for this new BLEACH series.
English

@Novus_Prime1 I’m sure they’re gonna do some wack heinous shit at SOME point, but unless they retroactively invalidate the Bloody Valentine Massacre as justified it’s just going to come across as “ah shit we made the ethics too unbalanced, hey ZAFT do some war crimes”
English

@hasmagoria You’ll see why zaft’s just as bad as the ef soon lol
English

@Novus_Prime1 In contrast the worst man ZAFT has to offer so far intentionally let all of the women and children flee from an active combat engagement.
And ig La Crueset did try to break the truce deal that one time but like… Kira was basically delivering her on a fucking nuke
English

@Novus_Prime1 EA has
Nuked an innocent colony
Developed arms in a neutral nation, and is subsequently responsible for the casualties it caused
Taxation without representation
Continues to discriminate even lacking in political ties to ZAFT

@fujin410 @Breadstick69420 (Guy who has just left his echo chamber) “oh we hate this now? Just now, starting today?”

English

@ishitak30325695 @kizu_skip Ok well there are Nazis in Gundam. They do literally name drop Hitler.
But really, outside of aesthetics, Zeon has way more culturally online with Imperial Japan. It’s obviously not 1-1, as they’re far more sympathetic and substantially LESS racist.
English

@hasmagoria @kizu_skip Oddly,Gundam is fiction, but some people try to link the story with a 1-to-1 story to our world.
There're no Nazis in Gundam.
And it's fiction,so people can side with Zeon or the EF.
English

@kizu_skip @geeksprk Also had nothing to do with being Zeon/Newtype or not. It was ecoterrorism/suicide by daddy issues. Char doesn’t even think he’s a Newtype.
English

@geeksprk @kizu_skip Even among the Zabi’s, Zeon nationalism was very much a Gihren-specific thing. Gihren kills Degwin because Degwin told him to be less Hitler-y and tried to stop the war.
English

@kizu_skip I feel it's mostly conflating Zeon Deikun with the Zabi dictatorship. Deikun wanted national liberation for Spacenoids and wanted to make strides towards Newtypism through equality, whereas the Zabis wanted to consolidate more power. Due to having the same name, however-
