@halleyji Good suggestion! Do you know of some more works on this theme? I recently came to know of Mou Banerjee's work but I have not read it...

Reading this now.. "Religious Conversion: Indian Disputes and Their European Origins" Book by Jakob De Roover and Sarah Claerhout Title is self-explanatory Some interesting references from Christian missionary - Hindu interface in colonial era. I was aware of some of the cited works. This is an interesting title! Will check it out sometime. "Dwij: The Conversion Of A Brahman To The Faith Of Christ (1850)" Thanks to the Routledge people for pricing this around ₹1200. This is decent pricing. I won't go to shady libraries if books are reasonably priced! Good to see acknowledgements to Aarohi Research Foundation, Indica/Indic Academy, Mythic Society Bluru, Prof D Venkat Rao, Prof SN Balagangadhara so on. This Humanities work is long game man. Lot of good work happening but it will take many decades to see things change. I don't know how all these people keep themselves motivated. It's hard.

With X consumed by caste kanging these days, in 1763 CE a memorandum to Swarajya explicitly urged individuals against engaging in caste pride and partiality. The idea that being caste agnostic is a modern invention dissolves quickly. Translation of the relevant passage attached

@Siradhvaja I recently learnt that a Maharaja of Darbhanga was a Mahasiddha of all the 10 Mahavidyas. Do check him out too.

Genealogy of the Bengali Śrīvidyācārya, Sarvānanda Ṭhākur (15th-16th cent. CE), who supposedly realized the siddhis of the 10 Mahāvidyās and became known as Sarvavidyā.

When you argue for over-represented castes to be removed, how come you are already assuming to limit reservations upto 50 percent? Why not even lower? The EWS reservation has already breached the 50 percent mark and made the life difficult for general students. They don't get seats anywhere.

Other GC issues: 1. Adding safeguards in SC/ST act, prevent its misuse 2. Fixing 50% limit of caste based reservation, challenge all breaches in this limit, restoration of the Indira Sawhney judgement 3. Review of reservation list, remove over-represented castes 4. Review of reservation criteria, redefine "underprivilege" based on current political/social realities 5. Subcategorization of reservation, Creamy layer application/review of criteria 6. Challenge reservation in promotions 7. Other modifications- -One family, one reservation -One time use of reservation -Linking Aadhar card to reservation -Reducing % over time -Sunset clause Point is Reservation or other caste-based policies/protection laws are not eternal schemes. We need to review the policies made and assess their success/impact. If the demands for reservation or caste-based policies keep increasing, it just shows that such policies have been a failure & we need to look at other means for doing "social justice"!!!

What are the next steps for GC campaigners? Let's say UGC regulations are rolled back. Then what? What are the minimum, maximum & optimum demands? Is there a long-term plan? @neha_laldas @Sanjay_Dixit

@satoverma Once he came to deliver a lecture in my class in HCU, the whole rant was against brahmins. God knows from where he concluded that since Apad dharma allows brahmins to eat at Chandal's house, this shows during crisis brahmins encroached the chandal's resources. Almost insufferable

Started reading 'Trade and Traders in Early Indian Society' by Ranabir Chakravarti and the author starts the preface to the third edition (written in 2020) with an unhinged rant on muscular nationalism and how legal judgements (probably Ram Janmbhumi one) are ignoring history.

@Anviksiki Do you have any workshop that trains young scholars to produce a publishable draft that was only a mere idea at the start? This would train many of us in covering vast literature (primary and secondary) and then presenting as a well-referenced research paper.

The Liberals and Leftists achieved systemic hegemony through the 'long march of ideas through institutions'. What is the alchemy that makes this possible and how can Hindu civilizational strategists advance this goal. A proposition :- There are 3 key researcher archetypes and attendant competencies that need to be marshalled together (together is the key, cause the magic is always in the combination). Academic Researcher: The competency gained from training in the disciplines, vast literature study, methods, cover all bases, rigor and awareness of how knowledge is both produced and legitimized through academia. Creative Researcher: The passionate, intrinsically motivated and talented story teller who goes into both the rabbit holes and the trenches, is not afraid to make mistakes or impute and even impose his/her own vision on the circumstance and make a compelling impression. Policy Researcher: The strategist who can take the work from the academic and the creative researchers and infuse it into the policy design - The key competency of understanding of State thinks, law deigns, administration operates, political economy manoeuvres. What we need now is this combination as a network of organizations, network of networks, combinatorial creativity, strategic collaboration and shared resources to rapidly scale the assets - Playbooks, Platforms, Products, Policies. But all of this needs the leadership that builds the 5th P which secures everything else - People. Leadership that creates more leaders.

This is stupidity of the highest order; trying to equate Hubli Idgah Maidan with RSS Reshimbagh. A) Hubli Idgah Maidan ≠ RSS Reshimbagh Reshimbagh is private property. Walking in uninvited, removing their Bhagwa Dhwaj; which they revere as Guru m;and trying to plant your flag is trespass, not patriotism. Hubli Idgah Maidan was public land under a long-running legal dispute. The municipal lease to Anjuman-e-Islam had expired. Courts repeatedly affirmed the land was public property, not private Muslim space. Trying to equate public land with a private headquarters is pure nonsense. B) Flag hoisting at a public ground is a constitutional question, not trespass The fight in Hubli was over whether citizens could hoist the Tiranga on a public civic ground. Your own screenshot shows the police removed the flag in panic; which is exactly why the police were accused of insulting the national flag. That is the opposite of your “RSS hates the Tricolour” fantasy. C) Courts ultimately upheld government rights over the Hubli land The dispute went to the Karnataka High Court and Supreme Court. Verdict was: Idgah Maidan is municipal land, not private religious property. Meaning: public rules apply. Public ground ≠ private campus. This is not rocket science. D) Trespass vs public demonstration: childish to confuse the two Hoisting a flag at a public maidan is activism. Barging into someone’s private premises and pulling down their sacred emblem is illegal entry. One is political demand while other is a police case. To summarise I can say; only someone desperate; or clueless would compare the two.
GediGalla@TediBalla

@Aabhas24 So why did RSS forcibly hoist the tricolour at Eidgah in Hubli in 1992? Hypocrisy ki seema nahi hoti?

1099 filing through @tryramp Bill Pay is officially here. A while back, we asked our customers what they hated most about January and got the same answers: chasing vendors for W-9s, uploading 1099 forms to separate portals, and scrambling against the IRS deadline. So we've automated all that. Now every vendor payment in Bill Pay automatically flows into your 1099 prep. Ramp AI maps your GL categories to the right boxes, calculates totals, requests missing W-9s in bulk, and files directly with the IRS and states. Incredibly grateful for all the customers who test drove the past few months. Give it a shot and let us know what you think!
