@Keith_GadgetUK @james_rogers Nazis always say this. Used nazis and their methods were a hot commodity in 1945 and formed the basis for Wester "civilization" during the cold war. The west is but a continuation of nazism.

@hattra2 @CockertonMark What are you talking about? Being a Catholic was classed as committing treason, so they were killed for being Catholic not because they were actually committing treason. Like I’ve already said, Thomas Moore was executed for refusing to give up his faith.

Repost if you’d like to see the return of traditional British values. Things like tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs. Politeness. A sense of fair play. Mutual respect. Humour and wit. Kindness and generosity. Fairness. Sportsmanship. Anti-fascism. Inclusivity.

@LukeJac43459492 @CockertonMark I don't think you know what "illegal" means It was never illegal to be a catholic - I have ancestors who were catholic Did they have fewer rights? Yes Were they executed for it? No Don't confuse the 4-500 powerful people that challenged the King & lost with ordinary people

@hattra2 @CockertonMark It only stopped being illegal because of Ireland. Once the Irish act of the union 1801 was passed, even though Catholic emancipation failed then, it was only a matter of time because of how many Roman Catholics were in Ireland. Next time don't start making things up.

@LukeJac43459492 @CockertonMark Your reading comprehension isn't that good, is it? Mary burnt people at the stake for "being Protestant" - no other reason Other monarchs executed people for treason & other offences, but not for "being catholic" The emancipation act just gave them the right to vote

@hattra2 @CockertonMark You’re literally making stuff up. First of all you said it was only Bloody Mary that killed people for their religion, then you said Thomas Moore wasn’t killed for refusing to give up his faith, which he was. The Catholic emancipation act of 1829. And yes, it was illegal.

@LukeJac43459492 @CockertonMark Sorry, that is complete bollocks. There were many restrictions on catholics, like being a priest, or celebrating Mass, but "being catholic" was never illegal Where did you get the ridiculous idea about 1830?

@hattra2 @CockertonMark Tell that to the Catholic Church which made him a saint for refusing to give up his religion. Being Catholic was an offence. It wasn’t legal to be a Catholic until around 1830. There was a handful of families that were allowed to carry on such as the Percy’s, but it was illegal.

@ForeverScept I've been speaking to a lot of leftists on here, and apparently the state pension is now a 'benefit' like jobseeker's allowance. Also, apparently it was always sold as 'benefits' and you shouldn't be angry about not getting it when you've paid in your whole life. 🤷‍♂️

@LukeJac43459492 @CockertonMark Thomas Moore was executed for refusing to accept Henry as Supreme Governor of the Church of England, not for being catholic Elizabeth executed catholic priests for being loyal to the Bishop of Rome. Being a catholic was not an offense The last executions were in teh 1600s

@hattra2 @CockertonMark Henry killed sir Thomas Moore for being Catholic. Edward killed many catholics and Elizabeth saw being Catholic as treason. It carried on for a long time. They continued being killed for a few hundred years and it wasn’t until around 1830 it stopped fully.

General AI has it's uses. It can tell you about stuff you've never even considered, which can help you identify questions that you should ask a professional representative, but never take it as gospel You need to talk to an agent

@CarlBovisNature I've worked with IP rights for a long time; used to teach the subject at college level. You need to speak to a lawyer; and for the love of god ignore rubbish about 'consulting' Grok or Chat GPT - it's a job that requires proper professional input; NOT amateur dabbling on SM!

@LukeJac43459492 @CockertonMark It was only the Catholic Mary 1st that executed Protestants purely for "being protestant", mostly by burning at the stake Protestants monarchs tended to execute for refusing to "bend the knee" (i.e. treason), rather for simply being catholic

@CockertonMark Tell me, how did you come to the conclusion that ‘tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs’ is a ‘traditional British value’ when for centuries the only religion allowed was Protestantism? Anyone caught having a different religion was executed.
