Oof ok, well let’s do this I guess. Strap in anon! Firstly, I’m not a larrie. If I had to choose a label I suppose I’d say I’m a shipper. Do I like the idea of a certain image I have of H and L being together? Yes I do. It’s why I write fics, to indulge in that fantasy for a while. Do I believe they’re together? No I don’t. I could be wrong ofc, and I have no issue with people believing they’re a couple as long as it’s not done in a harmful way. I do have a problem with vile bullying, hypocritical targeting of individuals we don’t know, and people taking pleasure in other people’s problems. I also have a massive problem with misogyny - I’m an old school feminist who believes women are always targeted as easy scapegoats and attacked for things men aren’t. Words matter. Words give power to misogyny and this fandom feeds that misogyny freely and with apparent glee. So do I care specifically about Zara? Not really no. I don’t think she’s evil incarnate, she’s a bit dull for my liking but she seems harmless enough. It doesn’t even matter if I think they’re together btw (fwiw I think they are) because even if she’s a stunt she doesn’t deserve the constant and relentless attacks. Did she say some stupid stuff in her early 20s? Yep. So did I. Thank god social media wasn’t a thing back then hey? Seems to me she’s changed and grown and is trying to give back to the world, so I’m happy to give her some grace to do that because women should support women. Might I be wrong about any or all of the above? Yes of course. I don’t know any of the people involved, but the key thing is even if I’m wrong, I’ve done nothing I’d be ashamed of. Calling out vile bullying is valid no matter what the situation in my opinion. If the bullies are wrong, they’ve torn down a woman for no reason. I know which I’d rather be.

@hatzihase I agree if the complaint centred around the music or the album because you’re right, we’re not commissioning it. But if you’ve paid £100s for the best view in the house and you get the worst, that’s a betrayal of the trust I think?

Sharing this separately to the main thread because I have things to say! Quite a few people have used the word “selfish” when people complain about the shows. There’s nothing selfish about it. We pay a lot of money to attend these shows. If you bought a product and it wasn’t what you expected or was sub-standard, you’d be right to complain. We don’t owe artists anything. We literally fund them. They’re the ones who owe us the other side of the transaction. It’s not selfish to want value for money. Rant over. Please don’t cancel me. 😬
